I wanna try that Mochi Tuna Bowl so bad. It reminds me of the first time I tried tuna nigiri -- my neighbor's dad would go deep sea fishing and then lay out a bunch of tuna on the front lawn. They made sushi rice and invited me to try the tuna nigiri with a bit of soy sauce on the tuna. I was so unsure about it but I loved soy sauce with rice so I decided to give it a try. At that moment, my love for sushi was born. That bowl looks like it would be nostalgic of that very first bite.
Of all the countries I've visited before, Japan was my most memorable holiday destination ever. Can't wait to go back to Japan again! My sister had been to Japan 2 times and she said it's still not enough. All my friends said that I need to visit Japan at least 4 times in my lifetime. Minimum once for every season 😅 There's always something new and extraordinary to experience in every places for every seasons.
happy to see more of that lovely walk through the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage route, I'd love to grab any of those tuna treats as well as that local craft beer
when you are so tired after a 12 hours odd shifts.. nothing feels so good watching the wonderful foods and scenery of beautiful Japan and of course the beautiful and cheerful Shizuka 😘
Having a Tuna Pizza that the children can enjoy is really interesting. That corn is interesting plus having the tuna on it. If the Mayo was Kewpie, then I think people would really enjoy it making a favorite Japanese delicacy. Good job 👍
I got to make it to Kitchen nicori. Yes, I'd love to try the tuna pizza. But honestly, I would be hoping to buy that cool t-shirt the owner was wearing.
Tuna and waterfalls….. I’m sold. I know where I’ll be going one of these days. Kitchen Nicori looks awesome. Thanks for going to some of these off the beaten path places. Cheers from Las Vegas!
Hello Shizuka! Steve Cha of Rockstar Eaters recently did a series on the available sushi in Los Angeles, so when I saw your video on freshly fileted Tuna of course I was interested. Well done! One of the places on my bucket list to visit is Japan, and you make it seem so inviting. Thank you.
It is pronounced as it is written but in this case, the word "shoyu" is combined with another word "ichimi" that comes in front of it, which makes the sound change from "shou" to "jou". It happens quite often in Japanese. It can happen with the word "sushi" too, when there is something in front of it, "s" changes to "z". Sushi->KuraZushi :) it is a bit hard to explain but we hope it made it clearer.
raw fish tastes like butter. I would have to fight it to down that much. But, at cost. I am sure if it was handed over. I'd not have many problems. haha
@@JapanbyFood I found an asian market near me that sells natto. That stuff makes you feel like a super hero. lol. the probiotics. or maybe it was the jinro. hahahaha.
I hate to be critical but in the tuna cutlet scene, the two types of tuna are supposed to be called fatty and medium fatty but are referred to as rare and medium rare which is a clear mistake. The daikon grated radish was called horseradish which is also incorrect since the two are nothing alike.
