Excellent! Thank you Mr. Donati, for doing your videos with the camera view from above and behind you! It helps to not only hear, but SEE exactly what you are doing throughout the song...Amazing!
Virgil Donati hahaha! every version has been great. but this one is just a step beyond. you keep on improving. amazing! thanks from Zoetermeer (de Boerderij) for the great gig last month😆
boy it's been a long time since this album came out.. in 3 months it's gonna have its 10th anniversary. I'm just hopin we won't have to wait another 10 years for the next PX release
Awesome, have you considered a digital download of the whole show, similar to "on impulse" and "anatomy of live"? Those were and still are very enjoyable to listen to.
Perfect!! Great Team! Spot on!! Nieri and Braguinha blow it out of the water every time!! O som estar perfeito brother!! Much success to you now and always Virgil! When are you guys coming back to California either San Diego or LA area? Blessings to you bro!! Thanks!!
Interesting to watch Virgil from above for a drummer especially-- He keeps even his middle finger over the top of the stick which of course is the way we all learned in the beginning but Most drummers and I include many great drummers end up in live situations especially just keeping the index finger over the top with the middle finger kind of riding along on the side of the stick-- So I’m thinking from watching this I may have to go back and revisit this in practice,,, it certainly has worked well for Virgil!!!
I wonder what would happen if Mr Donati and Tosin Abasi do a colaboration album or at least an EP. Would the world implode? With Virgils and Tosins aproach to rythm and melody, Earth's core might as well just collapse.
Surveil Couldn't see that ever happening, Virgil always picks sick AF bassists not guitarists.. maybe Evan Brewer? But the generational \ scene gap for both them is just to wide. I'm still wishing Travis Orbin would Collab with some one like them.
Virgil clinic di hard rock cafe tahun 2000 bulan juli, setiap peserta dibagikan selebaran materi clinic. Clinic dipandu oleh om karim suweileh. Drummer tuan rumah yg jamming bareng dgn virgil yaitu hayunadji, wong aksan. Sebelum mulai pedalnya virgil sempat terlepas
Excellent and as ever leading edge! I'm interested to know: when were the keyboard type 'pad sounds' brought to the audio mix? Added afterwards or perhaps triggered/ launched somehow on the night?
human behind the kit always going to sound better than drums samplers and midi that we all like today@! dynamics and hits sounds so robotic and unnaturall in metal with these crappy drums samples, plus you never gonna get those great tricks like virgil does)
I have to say that i have never really been a fan of this guy as he's always been too much of a technician and enough of a musician. with this composition he shows the power of syncopation and rhythmic construction to create mood and atmosphere..and his solo is within the bar rather than playing outside of it which is more compositional and more difficult to do. Virgil is finally coming into being a musician.
I'm glad you define musicianship mr. McFadden or whatever. your arrogance is astonishing. sounds like you read it out of a " I know it all encyclopedia." your taste is your taste, just leave it at that. your taste does not define musicianship how absurd!
