My analysis of my interview with Juan Fernandes, the lead game designer of Kingdom Rush Alliance. Octarina was there too. Wishlist code for Alliance (I get clout with Ironhide if you use this): store.steampow...
I'm even more excited for Alliance knowing it will go back to focusing more on "difficult" usage of towers. Demon Pit in particular feels like it fits my playstyle perfectly so I think I'll be trying it out first when I get it.
Honestly I'm more excited about the variety, a lot of towers in the previous games feel like generic upgrades seen in any other td game (looking at you Orc Hut), so seeing Alliance fully embrace the unique aspects of all their towers, I can't wait to see some of the more unique concepts that come with the series' new philosophy
Watching this video filled me with pure joy! So cool to see you get to talk directly with ironhide. However, I am disappointed to see the lack of a mention of a certain brotherhood and how they should appear in a possible post game campaign...
The major problem with Vengeance was the pacing. I hated how slow the enemy walked towards my towers. At least it had powerful towers as opposed to a game like Origins. I really hope that Alliance resembes the first two KR games the most.
I am really glad that the developers seem to be reaching out to the community much more then with vengeance. Makes me really excited for the new kingdom rush game. Moreover, based on the answers we might get the game that we were expecting from vengeance with unlimited combinations of unique towers with unique roles allowing for as many strategies as there are players playing the game.
I don’t want to be too bold but I do feel like they listened to my "What Vengeance Should Have Done Differently" video and took the suggestions from it that were feasible
@@Voduke789 I think you might be right. TBH you made a couple of vids with profound impact on the community with the vengeance analysis and the ultimate hero tier list being perhaps the two most notable instances. Let me take this opportunity to congratulate you on a job well done:) Ps. I think your critique of junk world while loosely related might have also had some impact on the devs:)
Well, nice video voduke, thank you for giving us encouragement to play kingdom rush alliance (even though i can't buy it), may your channel grow wonderfully ❤
I'm so glad I i learnt more about how they approach the creation of their games and I'm also glad to know that Alliance is most likely their next masterpiece.
Such an amazing video. Such smart questions to ask the devs. And man that statement at the end about the difficulty got me so hyped I just can't wait to both try the game and absolutely devour all the content you are going to release
I’m happy to read someone liked my questions. I remember asking my family for suggestions for questions, and one of them sent me ChatGPT generated questions. I disliked the AI ideas so much that it instantly inspired me to write these questions
Nice interview, only sad part is the technical issues present. Good choice to not ask any controversial questions, wouldn't be nice to get any of the devs in trouble.
from everything said about KR5 from different creators and ironhide themselves, it really seems like the culmination of the entire series in terms of good game design, and im excited.
Nah Alliance is up there but not harder. And like I said in my beta test video about the difficulty curve, that level of difficulty will only be present in the third environment.
Voduke you're the Kingdom Rush player I trust and respect the most, so if you're so optimistic about the game and also about its difficulty, I can only be truly hyped
Very happy to have you as a member of this community :) I remember at the end of your hero tier list you mentioned you'd enjoy talking about maths. Could you share what areas/fields interest you? Much love from Australia
Muito legal saber que eles estão trabalhando duro em ouvir o feedback dos fãs e buscar realmente fazer um Kingdom Rush satisfatório de se jogar! Btw, ótimo vídeo :)
Considering what I've experienced as someone who went into kr5 completely blind, barely even having seen any advertising due to avoiding it, i was vastly disappointed with what is in the base game. While i do agree that the towers definitely feel more distinct, I noticed that the heroes have seemed to regress somewhat. whereas the heroes in vengeance were absolutely its strongest point, being very interesting and distinct from eachother, it feels like Alliance has swapped the quality of its tower system for the quality of the hero system. Gone are the days of abundant utility upgrades, passives and quirky spells, now it feels like the majority of heroes have a checklist of different abilities that they conform to, with damage being the prime culprit. Kr5 is the first one that i have literally no desire to go back and get all the stars and max out all the heroes, and that's especially a shame since its the first kingdom rush that ive played at release. If they add more then ill go back and take a second look, with fresher eyes
Well, harder difficulty like past kr games only means higher hp for enemies and less for heroes. It just mean your strategies will be limited, as you have to find a certain one that works. Playing on normal let you use more strategies which can be more fun!
