*MAJOR ERROR - I left out a tower site in the middle of the board that either player could use, which would have made this MUCH more winnable!* 0:00 - Introduction 0:41 - Overview and Set-Up 5:29 - Round 1 14:45 - Round 2 21:50 - Round 3 29:53 - Review
This was a very troubled production that took ages to arrive but fortunately the resulting product is excellent. Lots of fun, they wean you into new systems well, and lots of variety to boot. I've also enjoyed painting the minis so far, it feels like they translated them quite well from cartoon designs. Great review/comparison Mike!
Glad it finally came out and turned out well, though it’s odd it was so hard to finish when they had so much of the core mechanics and concepts already done from rift in time 😅😅😅
You have one huge setup error which would make your run almost impossible. You did not set up the white build location on the tile 2 spaces to the right of your #1 token. This is probably the best build location on the map (probably why it white as well). Best spot for bombard towers. The white build site allows any player to build on it and pickup towers (a good way to swap towers to another player).
HOLY CRAP! I'll add a note about this to video description and pinned comment. How did I miss a white placement spot AND a fire blossom. Yeah, that would have made this much easier!
It's super tough! Also, I don't remember where I read it but I think once you assign damage you can't change it, so no backsies (which is a silly rule that I always ignore).
The difficulty and puzzley nature of the game kind of turns me off of the game. It could have been a glorious romp of destruction, fun towers, and powerful heroes. But it limits the players too much with the mechanics. My copy of Rift in Time is unplayed.
@@randito2387 the puzzle aspect is fine, and I almost enjoyed it but there is something about the rules that get in the way of fun. I confess I put it away when I saw the ramping difficulty in later scenarios. Except from Mike's I feel that some of the other gameplay videos are a little staged. The game is super hard and cumbersome sometimes.
Wait, wasn't the tough enemies covered 1 square with only 1 type of damage? I mean how did you cover 3 different squares of tough enemy with only magic damage? 18:50
@QuestManiacus95 ohhhh, I get the confusion now. Tough means each square must be covered by a different component/soldier/tile. So since each of those magic tokens is a single square, they can each cover a tough square. What I couldn’t do is place a 2x2 attack covering 2-4 of their tough spaces. Hope that makes more sense!
@@OneStopCoopShop So, it still can be cover by same damage tile you place on another square of same tough enemy as long is 1 square? I see. That's confusing.
