There's so much cleverness here. Unused towers upgrading gets the feel of the video game without having to deal with counting coins, and the polyominos add a great layer of puzzle and choice.
Exactly right. It's clever in a bunch of ways. Pretty much wherever imitating the app would have been busy work, they've done something different and cool.
Definitely a good translation, except I think it would be better if the towers didn't return to your hand, that is kind of weird, I think if they stayed on the board you would have to think more ahead, and it would mimic the feeling of the pc game more accurately. I feel like having few weak towers at the beginning, and than having all strong towers at the end of the level is one of the satisfying things about KD
After playing serial times, I know some practical strategies and tips to get u to survive: 1. Always start at 1-star difficulty instead of 3-stars recommended difficulty if you are not experienced in this game. It always add one extra spell u choose (choose the one with most titles u can hit on enemy) (but except first 3 missions) and 2 gems at start. Together with the starting gems, you will be so rich to buy many towers. So, u build one half which are already in use and upgarde another half for portals. Or, you switch side upgrading them to balance to level of each tower. 2. Do not use your tower to attack the portal immediately after it spawns. Wait until it reaches the end of road right, just right before your exit. At that time, launch the massive attack at once with minimum towers to be destroyed by the portal. 3. Always place troop tower at the last decision to kill off some 1 square for which other towers are hardly covered. 4. Use gem to buy many level 1 towers as u can and keep upgrading them for portal at start until it reaches right before your exit. 5. For the last portal, you can buy 2 lv towers directly. 6. Beside some special mission, most of the target are destroying all portals. Your strategy is wrong if u always wish to destory all the hordes (and when it comes out). It's nearly impossible to win. Hordes are the only way for your team to buy towers to defend against Portal. 7. I know it will be in high pressure if it's full of enemy and one is closing at the exit right next to it. But it is how the game works if you want to turn the table around to win the game! 8. When the hero is on your hero board, you can treat it as it is just standing at the exit bar there.
Just to point out that in 25:00 you mention that Malik has 2 movement points so he can only reach that horde, but the solo rules says that you can place bench heroes anywhere you want in the board (not using their movement points).
I think I spotted two mistakes :P @20:25 You put a magic tile on an enemy that is magic resistant. And @2:36 you are only forced to attack a portal card if that is the only available tower to attack. So you could have actually placed the howitzer where you wanted it while only attacking the left and middle cards.

MAN HELP ME PLSSSSSSS If I have 4 hearts can I let 4 enemies pass and still stay alive? Or can I only let 3 enemies through?? i don't understand this rulee :(
Check page 15, upper right corner. You lose one heart for enemy still visible on the tile, and if you lose your last heart you are defeated. So a single enemy tile with 4 or more dudes on it would take all 4 of your hearts.
@@JustMyOpinionOfficial you want to point me to where in the rulebook you see that? I just skimmed back through it and saw nothing to indicate that. But, to be fair, the rulebook is pretty rough and poorly organized, so it might be in there and I missed it :)
