I mess around with them actually. The lyrics were written in A rolling stone interview and they got the rights to write the lyrics From Columbia. Means they are copyrighted and basically it’s confirmed its “them” not “him”

If anything it might be on an official live show recording sometime. I get why he didn't put it on HS1 though - he was still too scared of how he'd be perceived. By the time Fine Line was out he'd let himself be who he wanted to be but it doesn't fit that album
He leaked the studio version and he doesn't sing those verses in it . But it's "taste it" and "ride it". He made the gestures when he performed at Coachella. And the right lyrics are "the boys and the girls are here, I mess around with him" not "them". It's clear in the studio version and at the Coachella performance.
It always surprises me when the words ‘ride it’ is the part that clues people in to the subject matter.. Yet the SECOND LINE ‘treat you like a gentleman’ seems to fly right under their nose. 😂
It flies under their nose because the expression to treat someone like a gentleman is YOURSELF to be the gentleman. You treat a girl or a boy LIKE a gentleman.
@@ateezring I had it explained once that if that was the case, then the phrase would be ‘act like a gentleman’ OR ‘treat you like a lady’ I mean I suppose it doesn’t matter overall, but this was the line that clued me in at least.. 😉

This song moved me from casual admirer to serious fan. (I forwarded this song to everyone I know) watching the first performance where he seems a little nervous and then getting more comfortable while on tour was a joy. that he omits wasted and ride it cause he knows the audience will all know the lyrics by the second show. Also the false ending and come back. The dancing/strutting This man is good at his job. I’m not sure the same energy can be captured in the studio. He would have to record it live. I need the audience shouting Ride It. Then again, Kiwi is also better live.
