Have a whole community of fans of this game and the sword of moonlight in general ready to help support you in this project would love to have you on the Discord if you're interested
This is awesome. I was thinking of doing a very similar project myself (Kings Field 1) but with co-op. I just thought it'd be fun to play it with a friend
This is awesome. But I do have a particular critique. The mood has been altered from the original due to the graphics being overhauled. I would love the option for less draw distance, more fog to not see what is coming, and a good CRT Filter implementation. Positives, it's smooth as butter and looks like it has mouse support. I noticed all the newer details like certain enemies missing body parts upon attacks which shows damage over time instead of a lifebar which is a phenomenal change. The skeletons using these new textures are super cool. Love that change. I'll be playing the living heck out of this, keep up the good work and god speed.
The further fate of the project will be clear in a month or more. Continuation of development depends on the opinion of the community, the number of interested people, my readiness for this, etc.
i was a bit skeptical but im glad i was wrong. The game looks very good at 4k with ducktation the thing is your remake improves the original by a lot. its way more snappy. idk if its a bug but if you hold the run button it has infinite stamina please dont patch it also the camera feels great with a controller
If the decision to complete the project is made, it will take about a year. Release of a completely finished version without bugs, etc. may take another half a year. Thanks!)
Unfortunately only the first location is available, but the demo can be played to its logical conclusion. I hope it will captivate you for a couple of hours) Thank you!
Is the full game available now or did you release only the demo on 21.6.? Because the website says something about a demo so I'm kind of confused, sorry if I sound dumb xD I'm gonna play it regardless tonight, I've always wished they would remake or remaster their old games, maybe even release a new title in the series like king field 5 or shadow tower 3, I love the first person exploration and weird vibes in these games. I've also seen there's been a similar game with newer graphics a few years ago but I forgot it's name, maybe you will release a game with your very own world, characters and designs in the future, would be very interesting to see! I wish you the best for your future and I hope you're having fun creating and sharing your amazing work with us!!
Lunacid is probably that game. There's also Dread Delusion (more similar to Morrowind). Yes, this is just a demo. I'm an amateur game developer. For a full game, I would need at least another year if I decide to proceed. Thank you! I will definitely continue making similar games, and my own original ones as well!
In a month, based on the popularity, interest and opinions of the community, I will make a decision on what to do next. Patreon is open, but without donations, since the fate of the project is not clear. Thank you!
IF it gets released) There's a little more than a week left before deciding whether to make a full version or leave the demo as it is. The originals are worth a try. Fortunately, you can customize controls and graphics on the emulator. It will play much better)
@@rotmilldev i think this demo is an incredible feat, i really think you should go ahead with remaking the whole project, not to say it would be easy but man it'd be so cool to have this out there
@@HairyHog77 I would like to as well! Honestly, I'm holding myself back. But it has to be a rational decision. I want to grow into a full-fledged independent developer as quickly as possible. Therefore, developing the full version should be more promising/profitable than another original and commercial project.
I expected for nintendo to have fromsoft remake their kings field series switch exclusive. But no, somehow nintendo remains the only big publisher without fromsofts exclusive blessing.
Thank you! I realized that I won't be able to recreate the original exactly. Let's see how smoothly the demo plays. We'll decide what to do next from there. The priority right now is critical bugs, if any are found.
Is yhis remake that fast? Also you could add some clutter and props to modernize the game more. More wall textures and variance. If not just play the original. Great effort anyways.
Unfortunately this is just a demo. However, it can be taken to its logical end. I hope it can captivate you for a couple of hours) Thank you! You can also write wishes and information about bugs in the discord server)
@@pit_agora Unfortunately, a full version doesn't exist yet( Currently, a "marketing campaign" is underway, after which it will be decided whether to complete the project or move on to another one. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9pNOPtyEMmI.html
I hope so!) It all depends on your interest in the project and the number of people interested. And we'll decide what to do next together on the Discord server)
Just beat the demo, absolutely incredible. I've been wanting to play the old PS1 King Fields game from a while now. Thank you for your hard work! Hopefully you'll have time to complete the entire game.
My man, this is what it's all about!!! I'm in love. I hope you become more and more proficient with this, a full blown remake of each game would be fascinating, if a lifetime project.
Высокие текстуры натянутые на плоскую геометрию соседствующие с современными шейдарами, вот что значит васянство. Стиль просто отсутсвует, не говоря уж о композиции. Ты взялся за дело, которое не везёшь, сразу видно.
@rotmilldev If you ever tackle Shadow Tower Abyss you should partner with the Cursed Dark Souls mod author, so y'all can make a lore friendly version that uses all the weapons & armor from ST: Abyss.
Absolutely phenomenal! The added mechanics, the added lighting but retaining the original textures and effects. This is truly what the remake should be. PLEASE CONTINUE WITH THE PROJECT!
I will definitely return to this gameplay. As for making a direct King's Field remake, I'm not sure. There are a few options: 1) Make an exact copy but with my own assets. 2) Create a "spiritual successor" to King's Field (like Lunacid or Verho as examples). 3) Release a game build (with placeholders instead of FromSoftware content) so that other enthusiasts can complete the project based on it. I'm slowly working on the third option, and most likely, I'll release it in the future. I like the second option the most. This way, I won’t violate anyone's intellectual property rights, and I’ll be able to create something new. For now, I’m heavily involved with the team’s new project. I hope everything works out, and that we can finish quickly (around a year). Thank you!
Personally my biggest issue has been that rhe swing animation has only been a downward slash. And that was kept. You dangerous, mute, lunatic. I'm 39 now. I can finally accept that as part of the charm, even if it drives me nuts.
Wait, I thought this was KingsField 1 ? If this is 2 what the hell did I play? Oh no it's just now dawning on me that they messed up the naming in different regions...
You are a God for doing this! I'm hoping for the full game! Also............................ if you really are building this from the ground up........................... sprinkle in Co-Op?
The colored lighting looks really good. It maintains the spirit of the original to a large degree, I think. It's like as if it had received a PC port around the time of Quake II in its OpenGL form.
nooooo... u can do bettter than this im sure of it... just to makke simple comparison to legend of grimrock etc. the graphic need overhaul... the recipe of remake or reboot... is same main story, same gameplay with more future upgrade, new area, new boss, or new mid boss.. and new graphic engine.... if u remake like this i still prefer the original bro.... take my suggestion with humbleness
I really really really hope you aren't hit with a cease and desist, or any other form of legal trouble for this amazing project. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, and please be careful!
