Visit www.4Dfoot.com - The Home of Classic Football! Brazil dominated the 1970 World Cup and Pelé was at the heart of it all, with genius plays that make it seem like he was on another level than everyone else.
Years ahead of any time. Aint never gonna happen again, that level of ease, natural feel and imagination. Complete doesnt make him justice. C. Ronaldo is complete. But I've never seen him do anything that expands my understanding of whats possible on the pitch. If you tell me, you have unseen footage of Pele, I'm willing to pay for it, sure that I'm gonna see something brand new
@@mskidi Yes. Unfortunately, we have just 30% of Pele footage. Almost nothing of the young Pele. We have just imagine and listen the people who saw the young monster.
What we have of Pele is the little that was filmed, which already shows us his genius. Nowadays, all players can film 90 minutes of their matches and choose their highlights. Imagine if Pele could have the same opportunity?
King PELE wasn't protected as the way current strikers are protected but Pele outdribled them, Master class passes, lightening pace, superb dummies, score with both feet and headers. Pele the true king of football
The 1970 world Cup was the best ever and Pele was the master I was 16 at the time and the whole Brazilian team were out of this world. Just spellbinding football
If you had to pick one man who exemplified everything about football that is wonderful, beautiful, awe-inspiring and magical, that man could only be Pelé. The nearest thing there has ever been to a perfect footballer.
Pelé did not have the benefit of modern technology in sports. Pelé was not protected by the red cards as he played for 12 years early when there were no red cards. He got a lot on his team's excursions, Santos FC, and he was forced to play even injured. in the 1966 World Cup, Portugal massacred Pelé with a disloyal kick. He left the field without being able to put his feet on the ground. If Pelé had at his disposal the technology and the red cards to protect him, he would be even better.
That’s just a silly comment. Pele is the best of all time. Adding those qualifiers makes it seem that he lacked certain things. Moreover, football is about technique more than anything else. And his contemporaries played under the same rules as him. In that sense, it’s no use discussing something like technology. That hints at modern players being better than him, and they aren’t.
Well with the benefit of an easier offside rule in the current era and better protection by referees and tackling rule changes that the current era player has.It is very reasonable to assume Pele would have been more effective a player given that football in the current era isn't as rough regarding tackling and it's easier to stay on side given the offside rule is just level with last defender in the current era.
And anyone who played football at during even the latter half of the 1970s and throughout the 1980s.Would definitely know tackling in those days were significantly tougher and referees were less likely to give yellow and red cards. And tackles from behind were part of the game and if you were a decent dribbler of a football you definitely took several of those each game. And the offside rule was also harder for forward players to overcome.None of this current era level with last defender and you're still on side.As I remember you had to have at least one defender clearly Infront of you or you would be flagged offside. And the pitches were worse back then too.And Pele played the majority of his football during the latter 1950s and throughout the 1960s which was even earlier.
If you watch the full video of the game, right after it ends, you will see an Italian player running after Pelé, to get his jersey. I never saw anything like it in any world cup finals...
I am a brazilian old man and I watch Pele so many times. He is true gentleman genius. And by the way this turnaround move against Mazurkiew, we in Brazil call it "cow dribble".
I watched Pelé with this team Santos against Fenerbahçe on a friendly game. I was 22. I went from Izmir to Istanbul especially to watch Pelé. Santos won 6-1. I can still remember the names of the Brazilian players: Cejas - Orlando - Delgado - Alfonsinho - Bertan - Ze Carlos - Antenes - Clodoaldo - Alcindo - Pelé - Edu.
Dave Shields everybody taks about the brilliance of Pele... but nobody talks about the brilliance of white pele (tostao) the pass or the assist itself cut through 2 players... one of the greatest passes in the history of the game.... thats why it is known as team of the century....
Dave shields brazil has created great players... frankly speaking they could never produce another tostao.... he was perhaps the greatest playmaker from the attacking third to the penalty box area.... bobby moore said everybody... thought i would mark pele.. but i marked tostao... becuse he was the most important hub in the brazilian attack...
There's was an Argentine footballer called Alfredo Di Stefano, He played in every position and was the best forward, midfielder and defender of his time ! He was considered the greatest footballer of all time until the rise of Pelé.
I remember several of these moves watching them live. The Banks save, the run around the keeper and near miss, and the volley shot of the goal kick have always stuck in my mind.
That move to at4:28 has to be one of the most brilliant dribbles of all time. Not showboating but a moment of pure genius. And besides who in nowadays era when dribbling and stopovers are much more freer and common would dare to do that in a WC semifinal? Respect to the real GOAT
As Hugh Johns (ITV Commentator on some of these clips) used to say he was El Rey (The King) - The greatest footballer of them all - what a player he was I was a teenager at the time of the 1970 WC - I have never seen a better football team and Pele was the orchestrator of the team Nobody before or after compares to him
The 4th goal in the final.Pele knows Alberto is running in on his right as they practised it in training. He does not even look - he just rolls the ball into Albertos path.No fancy stuff. Greatest of all time - numero uno.
I already watch a bunch of Pele's highlight match ,, he had already done all of the signature move by Ronaldinho , Ronaldo , Roberto Carlos , Cr7 , Messi , Neymar & all of the football stars we know😅 he done that 50 years ago ,, such an amazing & genius guy 🔥💪
Filipe Ortega because in his era football was more competitive and he didn't have the advantage of playing with one of the best national teams of all time like Brazil was during peles era.
TheAnkleSam both Pele and Maradona have said many silly egotistical shit after they retired, they like to constantly proclaim their the greatest which if I’m honest just pisses people off.
Sorry Messi, but Pele was and is the greatest all-round player we have ever seen. Messi is fantastic, but he would not have coped with the ball, the pitch or the hard defending back in the fifties and sixties. Maradona was an amazing dribbler but could not play the complete team game Pele could. The one and only true GOAT, sorry Messi Ronaldo fan boys
I still think Pele is the most effective footballer who has ever played the game.He did it at every level and a big match player even at international level both scoring and providing goals assists. And a complete player who had wonderful improvisation and vision. And even those goals he attempted and didn't score in the video.I have seen other videos that show Pele attempting similar and scoring them.So don't think Pele only did these in the video he did these several times during his career.
It was such a thrill to watch Pele in that World Cup. It was like watching someone reinvent the game. One had never seen anything like it. But then the whole team were geniuses.
4:07-4:15.... NOBODY can't make this skill in planet !! Absolutly amazing !! PELÉ named this skill 'play with opponent' ('tabelar com o adversário'). Pure genius ! For many reasons, THE KING of FOOTBALL...
Tbh there was a Swedish player, little older than Pelé, who used the same trick. His name was Kurt Hamrin, and he played many years in Serie A in Italy in 50-60s. I heard Nils Liedholm, another great Swedish player from that era, tell this story on TV
Takes me back to being a kid of 11 and thinking I just watched one of the greats - 4 years later Cruyff and Beckenbauer 3 of the greats in my lifetime back when the game was not ruined like now. Thanks for posting.
italy maybe could've won the world cup if Pele wasn't in the final cause 3 out of the 4 goals came from Pele's help so the game would've went into extra time for sure
Thank you for the video, it brings tears to my eyes to see what the human body is capable of. I have seen many recordings, but this is the most beautiful one. As an attacker he could do everything u would want. Dribble, feint, he nutmegged 3 players consecutively, take free kicks, headers and most importantly hit a bicycle kick with his back against the goal. I am 28 watching football since I was 6. Proud to say that everything my father said about the 'Black Pearl' is true. He brought smile to a billion faces and was a global phenomenon being a black person at that time. Anyone who wishes to enter an argument however worthless it might be, please see a compilation of the tackles he faced. How he left in pieces at the 66 World Cup. There were no cards to save ur ass when u are rattled by a tackle, however bad it might be, it was always a foul.
Some people just can`t understand who he was, and what he represents. The man is part of man kind history,an icon. If you go to Barsa Encyclopedia,he will be there. He made Time magazine cover together with,Gandhi,Mandela,Ali,Madre Teresa, people will be talking about him centuries to come. As the others in 20 years at the most will be forgotten Pelé,an example of evolution Darwin would love to be alive to see him
O DRIBLE DA VACA EM CIMA DO GOLEIRO DO URUGUAI, É INDISCUTÍVEL O LANCE MAIS LINDO E EMBLEMÁTICO DA HISTÓRIA DO FUTEBOL MUNDIAL. SÓ UM REI ILUMINADO PODERIA CRIAR ESSA OBRA PRIMA. PELÉ, É REI .PELÉ É INCOMPATÍVEL. 💚💛🇧🇷
Altruista, rispettava l'avversario. Giocava in modo spettacolare.
RIP Pelé - the real GOAT. Thank you for the inspiration and wonderful memories of the beautiful game. 😥(thanks for sharing birthdays and leaving us my five year wedding anniversary - never forgotten)
people saying there were no good defenders in pelrs days, but they left out the fact that two of the greatest ever defenders were destroyed by Pele. Moore and beckenbeur
No smooth field, no help of Referee, no cards, no Penalty. Srill this man was unreal. Dribbling, passing, free-kick, header what ealse left? He is the most complete player of all time. The king Pele ♚ ♔ ♚
