I remember playing this song over and over, driving in my car and just crying and missing my mom. She had just passed of cancer and she was my on call... still makes me cry and miss her when I hear this song. So moving and I'm grateful it exists.
still can't get over this song, i remember i was living with my grandparents and wasn't doing well mentally and my dad sent me this song, man it's something i'll never be able to put into words.
Kings of Leon have had so many different incarnations in genre and in style. Kind of makes you wish you had a time machine to go watch them in different eras.
This song reminds me of my husband. He played it to me in the early days of our relationship. He passed away end of December. I come to listen when I need to feel closer to him.
This song brings so many memories of my early 20s (31 now) back then it was way more laid back, care free times when i still went out, still lived with my parents, still played in bands, i used to play this song with my band or hear it on late night drives on the way to my house, smoking a cigarrette with the windows down and the wind in my face, good times indeed..
if you were to have watched this video for the first time having never heard of Kings of Leon, you just wouldn't expect for that voice to come out of Caleb..and then to here the amazing skills of all of the guitarist and how they all just gel so well together...truly an amazing band
Spot on mate. Was blown away when we saw it. Time we got our first shit job during uni summer break, 3 shifts, minimum wage but so many amazing memories. Heat wave in Wales and KOL on mp3 player and Kerrang TV.
The most underrated band. So many great songs. I saw them at the coastal credit union amphitheater in Raleigh nc last august for their “when you see yourself your.” Phenomenal show.
The best kings song I have ever heard....it is exactly perfect. It's guitar solo, the classic bass line, the tasty ride cymbal work in the drum track...great production value...echo vocals and beautiful harmony. A masterpiece. I am on call to -be --there....
One of their best songs. What's not to love about this song? The bass line is dope, the drums kick ass, the guitar riffs are bad ass and of course Caleb's vocals are top notch. The lyrics are also great. Just an awesome song all around.
Album or song? Agree with u on album, song I kinda agree cuz to me everything on Because ties for first, still to this day one of the best rock albums i've ever heard front to back.
Saw them perform this album at Swindon Oasis Centre just as it came out. Absolutely phenominal. Right before they exploded and started doing stadiums. Such talented guys.
Plz this. Makes. It look bad on their fans. I’m one of their fans. So plz. What gives you the rite to Jayden. Sorry. Out of order. I’m a big fan ok. Hear me. So shut. Up.
Saw them live last night in Perth, they have not lost their amazing vocal and stage presence… Fortunate to see them last tour 10 years ago…hope to see them still making great music in another 10 years!
Nathan Potter this album was far and away their best. I had high hopes for only by the night to be amazing but it just turned out to be a mainstream money machine. some good songs yes but a total letdown for their fans as far as the direction that it took.
But you must admit, they took a slight turn to the mainstream with Only By The Night. Not saying it's a bad album, but it's a bit more pop than their other stuff. I can understand why some people prefer their other stuff. I do sometimes too.
I bet there are genres you don't like, snowflake. Easy to say you 'can easily adjust' when they all always go more mainstream and tries to get a larger fanbase by making music the most people likes. Sometimes, and most times, it does though leave a large fanbase behind, who really liked the weird shit they had going on before. It's not just kings of leon, it's also arctic monkeys, green day, and generally just most major pop/rock and pop/punk bands.
That's not an awful lot of genres compared to you said you liked all. How about Johnny Rebel, Hanzel und Gretyl, Bach, Astor Piazzolla, etc. Stuff that isn't really mainstream? 'cause you mostly just named just everyone today listens to, and I'm not saying it makes the music bad, but it means most of the artists you named fall under the same few genres. But what about experimental classical tango focused on making music without sense (not talking about Piazzolla)? I've heard some fucked up music, that some people actually liked, but it seems like they actually used sounds that are naturally irritating our brains, like a siren from an ambulance or a tiger's roar. What makes us call you a special little snowflake is the fact that you say you like all genres, when you haven't even heard half of them. It's like saying "I like all flavors of ice cream!" but you obviously haven't tasted my turd flavor yet. As a musical student I've always tried to understand why people like different genres of music, and I first thought it was something political or a state of mind thing, but everything just pointed to the fact that people have different tastes, and while some people don't like Hendrix, others don't like Bieber. It doesn't make any of it good or bad (although I feel bad about comparing Hendrix to Bieber), people just have very certain tastes when it comes to music. I've seen people like you telling they like all of it, and I believed it, I think they were telling the truth, but it only ever lasted until they heard some fucked up shit that was just unlikable. I'm not saying you're a liar, I'm just saying if you think you like it all, then you haven't heard it all. Sorry for the long ass rant :P
She said call me now, baby And I'd come a running She said call me now, baby And I'd come a running If you'd call me now, baby Then I'd come a running I'm on call to be there One and all to be there And when I fall to pieces Lord you know, I'll be there waiting To be there To be there I'm on call, to be there One and all, to be there And when I fall to pieces Lord you know, I'll be there waiting I'm gone brawl, so be there One for all, I'll be there And when they fall to pieces Lord you know, I'll be there laughing I'd come a running I'd come a running I'd come a running To be there To be there I'm on call, to be there I'm on call, to be there I'm on call, to be there I'm on call, to be there
