This review of the Kings is crap! It's mounted incorrectly! Check out the Kings awning Helicopter wind test. That's how strong it is when mounted properly.
I have to agree with stephenbodnar5957 - the Kings seems too flexible simply because of the way it is mounted. I have watched a number of you-tube vids on these and none of them flex like yours.
I honestly don't rate the amount of shade these awnings provide. Just break out a 3x3 Gazebo and adjust leg heights to track the sun, brilliant on the beach. Tie down with Woolies Shopping bags full of sand.
What an absolute rubbish review. How the hell have you mounted that Kings awning for it to move that much. I have used 3 Kaon heavy duty adjustable brackets, and it's mounted to a Rhino Platform. My Kings 270 free-standing hardly moves at all in strong wind and is rock solid. It's actually built stronger than my old Bundutec ostrich wing 270. You have either mounted it incorrectly, used the wrong type of brackets, or it's mounted to something that has give. When mounted correctly the Kings 270 performs way better in windy conditions than the Bushwacker awning does!
No need for these sort of comments mate, only thing rubbish about the review is the kings awning compared to the bushwakka! Price obviously tells you what the better awning is. Yes I have mounted mine differently, but have also mounted the bushwakka the same, on the same brackets and had zero movement. The kings awning is too heavy at the rear, causing it to bend. Not my fault kings make a bad product, no need for the negative comments. Keep them to yourself and don’t comment at all ⚓️
Well if the Kings awning is that rubbish get rid of it then. Owned my one for 12 months and haven't had a problem. For the awning to be flexing that much it's mounted incorrectly. For you to say that it has a faulty design because it only has a pivoting point at the back is laughable. All 270's have a pivot at the back. Kings have instructions on how it should be mounted on RU-vid. They also tested it under helicopter down wash, 90km plus winds with no poles. I would like to see the Bushwacker do that!
Plus it's not too heavy at the back, 2 heavy duty brackets need to be mounted on the pivot backing plate, and 1 near the front on the endo frame. It needs to be mounted to a solid structure to minimise the flex.
@@stephenbodnar5957 as you can see by the review, I have got rid of the kings awning because the bushwakka is far superior. If the kings awning is so good why did you choose to buy the kaon brackets instead of using the “heavy duty kings brackets”. There’s obviously a structural fault when you have to use 2 brackets at the pivot point, no other awning does this. I have looked at 100s of awnings and we have compared the BEST in the market and the CHEAPEST in the market. The kings awning is rubbish compared to the bushwakka, not in general. A helicopter over the top side of an awning will do absolutely nothing to the awning. The updraft of wind is where you find the actual structure, not the down draft in which the awning is already angled to. When looking at updraft compared to downdraft, go back to year 7 physics then we can chat. I also stated above that I have used the bushwakka on worse brackets than this for testing, and it was far less unstable. Again this is due to the poor structure of the kings as it’s made on a budget. Don’t argue on something if you’re so bias to one side. I’m telling you what is better as I’ve had both. Just because one is cheap doesn’t mean it’s better buddy
If you actually bothered to read what I said I used heavy duty Kaon brackets because they're height adjustable, what the hell does that have to do with your review? Fact of the matter is you haven't looked at the Kings installation instructions. 2 brackets need to be used on the pivot backing plate to support the weight. That's not a structural fault with the product, that's a user installation fault on your behalf. When mounted properly and onto a solid structure there is minimal flex, no sag and poles aren't required to support it! I'm not bias towards either awning, but before reviewing a product, make sure it's mounted correctly. As you said in your review "it's probably the way I mounted it." There's no structural issue with the product to stop feeding people false information!
