Ok I have a couple of things to say: At point 0:23 - the angel that subtly just drops to her back with one foot in the air. Are you kidding?! That's flawless and amazingggg! 2:55 - 3:01 angel doing the air split to the ground SLAYS MMMEEEEEE: SO GOOD! Then the TWO angels that do the walk the back flip effortlessly is so beautiful! Just an amazing performance overall! What a great group!!
Matt Henry is phenomenal. I saw him last night and I've never seen someone look so confident in heels. He totally transformed into Lola and I can't get over how amazing his performance was! He totally deserved his Olivier :)
Francis Alegre holy moly I saw Callum Francis play Lola on Broadway in New York and was BLOWN AWAY! It was my first time seeing kinky boots and he definitely made it!!
I just came from watching the Japanese version of "KINKY BOOTS" & It was great to be able to compare the exact scene with ANERICAN version! Of course the rylics are different between ENGLISH & JAPANESE but I liked both! (^^)(^^) I wish I saw the show in person!!(^^)
@@KellyIsShort Hi there, thank you for the correction! (^^). I knew the movie came first in London in 80s? I'm in New York & I remember we had it for Broadway in 90s, so I thought I was watching the ANERICAN version.(^^). It was just interesting to compare to Japanese version. The guy played Lola is totally heterosexual & very popular among Japanese & other Asian women! I was shocked to see him playing the role, as I've never seen him dressed as a woman or in heels!!(^^)(^^) He was basically a famous actor for TV dramas & the film & never seen him dancing & singing before...not as a woman..I mean the TRANSVESTITE!(^^) I wonder if you are interested in checking out the Japanese version. They played in 2015 & this year & HARUNA MIURA, the Lola got much better this time around, so definitely see the 2019 version. Of course they are speaking Japanese but you can still enjoy their singing & dancing. I think the music is mostly the same. Cindi Lauper? the popular American singer from 80s was in charge of their music. She has been loving Japanese culture & its people for many years!!(^^) I really hope you check it out when you have a chance! (^^)
c) Be who you want to be/Raise You Up, which still has Lola & Angels, but also actively involves everyone else AND also contains 2 of the main messages of the show - "Be who you want to be" and "you can change the world if you change your mind".
This is so much better than the Broadway version. The American Lola lacks sass. She looks like she can't be bothered half the time. The British version has sass on every level whether that's just talking, or singing and dancing.
Love the show & more than chuffed to bits that it won what it did (those boots are WORKS OF ART), but slightly bemused/annoyed at the choice of this song to represent the show at the Oliviers, as it only showcases Lola and the Angels (don t get me wrong, they are fab) and basically guidelines the majority of the cast. IMO it would have been far better to do Be
Bryan Edney I might be biased as I went to college with Matt, but he is very, very talented, his vocal range is fierce! :-) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vydSqLhFnaQ.html
Jesus you really have no idea do you? Why do you think this Lola has won best actor in a musical? I've seen him a few times and he's nothing short of incredible, this cast is certainly much better in terms of accents, more genuine than the fake ones on Broadway and the national tour.... Kinky Boots belongs in the UK like it should have done in the first place...
