The Kinnaur Kailash is believed to be the resting abode of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati. The Kinner tribe, who reside in Kinnaur, were honored by having the mountain named Kinnaur Kailash.
The site houses a 79-foot-tall Shiva linga which is just a concrete pillar that has been carefully balanced on a rock slab resembling a trident. It switches colours many times during the day, like white just before sunrise, yellow just after sunrise, crimson just after sunset, and black just before nightfall.
Parvati Kund, which is 14,900 feet above sea level is situated nearby Kinnaur Kailash Parvat. According to a widespread belief, Goddess Parvati herself invented the kund. There is a Ganesh Bagh located near Parvati Kund. Moreover, it was also referred to as "Aashiqi Park" because it was the location where Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati met.

The Kinnaur Kailash range is located in the Kalpa region of the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, hence gets the name Kinnaur Kailash Kalpa. It is situated in close proximity to the Indo-Tibetan border at a height of 17200 ft above sea level.
How to reach by train:
Kinnaur does not have a rail network. Kalka, which is five to six hours away by train from Delhi and Chandigarh, is the closest station. Thereafter one can choose between local buses and taxis to go to the base point of the Kinnaur Kailash trek.
