This has probably one of the saddest credits scenes here. You legit feel sorry for Dedede. All he wants is to beat Kirby in some way, shape, or form, yet he's always thrashed by the Pink Menace. His minion remains loyal towards him though. Even after all this, he even became Kirby's friend and ally.

This ending made me dededepressed.

I felt so bad for King Dedede in the final cutscene. He had failed to beat Kirby, leaving a huge mark on his reputation, but the waddle dees stuck with him the entire way out of respect for their king. If that's not loyalty I don't know what is.

For being Dedede’s final role as being a villain (besides the mind control/possession stuff they’ll always use) This was a great note to end out his villainy.

This is the final time canonically that dedede is an antagonist to Kirby. Every subsequent dedede fight after this is either him being possessed by someone else, some clone, another version of him, an imposter or anything else. From that point on dedede isn't antagonistic toward Kirby and in some situations helps him.

The ending cutscene is one of the most important moments in the entire _franchise._ It's no secret that Revenge of the King is an adaptation of the Extra Game in Kirby's Dream Land, in much the same way that Spring Breeze adapts that debut title's main game. As such, it adapts the final cutscene of that original mode, where Dedede, after being trounced so thoroughly he can barely _stand,_ is face to face with Kirby once more, the yet-to-be-pink puffball having been concerned for his wellbeing and attempting to help him up. And to Kirby's surprise, Dedede cries. Rising to his feet, the self-proclaimed king solemnly trudges off-screen. And Kirby follows. This is the first major moment of characterization for the two. It shows that Dedede, despite having all the hallmarks of a classic endlessly-stubborn ne'er-do-well of a classic video game villain, has limits to how much he can be humiliated. It shows that Kirby is always willing to help, regardless of who it is. But this isn't the B-side of game one anymore. These two have over a decade of history at this point, and so we skip ahead, to King Dedede's march of shame, off to who-knows where, likely never to show his face again. We don't need to see Dedede's tears to know this is his lowest point. We don't need Kirby to walk with him into the sunset, since we already know he'd welcome him back with open arms. *But we **_do_** need the Waddle Dees.* At Dedede's lowest point, his lowest-ranking soldiers follow him. They are his goombas, his cannon fodder, the ones who likely get a front-row seat to Dedede at his worst. And yet they follow him. In spite of the lazy, self-centered, petty, downright rotten king he's been, the Waddle Dees see that spark of good in him that Kirby sees. And so they stand by his side at his darkest hour. I don't think this was Bandana Waddle Dee's idea, either. If it were, he'd be at the front of the line. Yet he stands in the crowd, merely the sixth waddle dee to show up on-screen. *His subjects **_chose_** to walk into that uncertain sunset with him, in spite of everything.* I believe this is what truly sparked change in King Dedede. This is what pushed him to _truly_ live up to the crown he so arrogantly gave himself so long ago. Because his Dees stood by him, he'll stand by them. _This_ is how we got from someone who steals all the food in the land to someone who doesn't _hesitate_ to lay their life on the line for a _single waddle dee._ *Here, under the setting sun, a self-proclaimed king becomes a self-made king.*

So this is where they established Bandana Dee as Dedede's lieutenant...and a loyal one at that. What a courageous, loyal badass.

For Masked Dedede being King Dedede's final smash in the upcoming Super Smash Bros Ultimate made me really happy for nostalgic reasons

Did anyone notice that at 1:18, the original length of Green Greens from Dreamland on Game Boy starts here? Same thing at 4:30 with Float Island. The boss fight with Lololo and Lalala is the GB version too with the five floors, instead of three. I always appreciated that nod to the original game with this Super Star Ultra. Lastly at 8:23 the original Bubbly Clouds.

I remember playing this when I was seven on my DSI XL. I loved this game and it was my favorite DSI game of my entire childhood. I still have that DSI, and the chipcard for the game. I'm fifteen now and I don't play Nintendo games and I really never did besides that and Mario kart. Never had a Nintendo console either just that DSI. Nostalgia hits hard with this.

The Ending With King DeDeDe Kinda Depressed Me Because Even After Using His Masked DeDeDe Hammer, He Knows He’ll Never Defeat Kirby.

I get the feeling the devs wanted to name this section "Return of the King" but couldn't for legal reasons.

In the endings if both revenge of the king and the revenge of meta knight made me feel bad for the antagonists, King dedede just really wanted to beat kirby in something, which he failed in and left an emotional scar. While meta knights ship literally burns with his loyal crew since they wanted to keep on fighting for him (meta knight).

Only complaint about this was that it was too short. Never expected to see the extra game enemies from Dream Land 1 return... I loved that. Plus, some of the maps are taken straight from Float Islands and Bubbly Clouds in that game.

You know even though he gave Kirby a hammer to have a semi fair fight it was a de- de- desadvantage for DeDeDe Also Bad Feels for King DeDeDe

I think Dedede was in the right. Given the vehicle that Kirby came in on, this would take place after the Marx incident meaning that Kirby has nearly brought about at least two apocalyptic ends to Dream Land. (the first being with Nightmare that Dedede himself tried to keep out of Dream Land) No wonder he sees Kirby as a menaces needing stopped.
