Thks Dean. Good Job. Carpet looks really nice!!! From experience and advice from 'professionals' in the past, carpets with a high/dense and/or thick nap (pile) are best steam-cleaned, straight suction. Especially essential if the carpet is wool/wool content. This preserves the carpet fibers which can apparently gradually wear down with revolving/rotating brush wet systems. I guess it may also depend on how expensive one's carpet is and how often shampooing is done that will dictate whether to do the straight suction steam cleaning approach or the method you kindly just shared. I go the steam-cleaning route since I have a lot of large area rugs (one has a high wool content) and also wall to wall carpet in my home. Sometimes in emergencies (pet stains or in-between seasonal cleaning for small mats) I use an 'agitation' system (revolving brushes) on a separate unit I have. Each one's personal choice. Just thought I would share.... for what it is worth.
I have found on wool carpet the Avalir brush roll is a lot more delicate on the fibres. But I have heard from my mate Corey from carpet muscle Tv that VLM is way more effective and safer than steam or brush agitation on delicate carpets like wool .
That’s a tough one because of condensation on aluminium, I use car wax on mine to keep slight moisture off . But with harsh winter in a garage I think it would corrode still
Thank you so much for answering my question and showing off the correct use/technique! This is the very definition of good and educational content! Despite including the fluffing shield with the shampooer, I just find it so strange that Kirby totally neglected to state in my g6 manual that the shampooer could be used as a carpet fluffer, also - only giving credit to the polisher. Not even setup or use directions for the fluffer either. And i had no idea that you had to use the fluffer wet, so thanks for that too! What i did was fluff before shampooing to loosen the deep dirt and raise the fibers for better shampooing, and then did a fluffing again again after shampooing - but once it had already dried. whoops lol, now i know for next time!
So glad I could help really appreciate awesome comments and support. Hoping to hit 10k subscribers so RU-vid will push my content more to reach and help more kirby owners across the globe 👍👍
