If you think the 2022 season was fluky, the 2023 was even flukier….in the opposite direction. The Vikings lost 3 of their first 4 games...all by one score because receivers were dropping accurate passes, tipped the ball to other team, fumbled the ball, the right guard knocked the ball out Kirk’s hands (this same guard stepped on Kirk’s foot three times in 2022), unblocked defenders, and stupid penalties. The number of turnovers by eight different players was UNREAL where this wasn’t an issue in previous 13-4 season. The defense was also still learning Flores' system for the first few games and weren’t causing turnovers like they did in the 2022 season. Once the rest of the offense and the defense finally got their crap together, Kirk’s' excellent play led the team to winning football games (ex. beating the 49ers on MNF, without Jefferson in the lineup) and got the Vikings back in the playoffs. Per OptaSTATS, Cousins was the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 700 or more yards on a 70 percent completion rate over the first two games of a season….and end up losing both times.

Trust me, I'm glad he's gone from the Vikings. I've heard every excuse but the kitchen sink why this guy can't beat good teams. This sums it up: 10-24 record against winning teams as a Viking; 14-43 career against winning teams.

Bro when you put up 4200 yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 picks in his first season with the Vikings, you have to look more on the team than the QB. Cousins is a good player. He's not a world beater but he's a massive improvement over what the Falcons have had for a long time. He's played on a lot of bad teams and made them look better than they are. Watch how bad the Vikings will be next season. If nothing else the Falcons are going to be like a thousand percent more watchable than they were last year.

For real, If anything it’ll be nice for them to have an actual QB to help them (London, Pitts, Bijan) develop. Then in a couple years they draft their franchise QB.

Yeah I don't think the huge hype train is warranted. I think if they go to the playoffs that would be a win, win one playoff game that would be huge. But mainly the reason why I care, is that I'm an NFL fan and I like watching good football. Apart from everything else, there is no doubt that Cousins will make this team like a thousand percent more watchable than it was with Ridder.

Kirk Cousins is one of the best. Vikings went 13-4 in 2022. Besides, no one is saying he's perfect but in this QB hungry league he is very desirable

he throws up great stats but its hard to build a good team when he commands 25% of your salary cap or 15% and 10% dead cap next year (vikings kept kicking that can down the road)

​@@caseybanter5751 Do you seriously not remember how bad the defense (and Donatell's scheme) was? That last playoff game shouldn’t have even come down to 4th and 8. The Vikings lost because of their defense (they allowed 31 points and 431 yards to a Giants team that was far from explosive and made Daniel Jones look like an All Pro quarterback). The issue was....it was a bad play call plain and simple. All the receivers but Hockenson had deep routes that were too long in developing and the left guard did not stop the defensive tackle AT ALL. Kirk had no time to throw and was about to be sacked.

Sometimes situations fall in laps and hopefully that happens cause I don't want to dole out 2 premium picks later this month along with next years 1 on the throwing of a dart when it comes to that position. We have one year to figure things out with jj and tj in prime. We'll have a better version of zay in Addison for awhile.

To be fair, those Bucs teams weren’t very good and y’all had that bum Josh Freeman at QB. Besides, he’s likely matured since the early 2010s. Of course, it’s a "wait and see what happens" type of situation, but considering that they’re actually making an effort this offseason I wouldn’t be surprised if they were good this year.

Idk about that. He missed 1 game in his career before that and that was in 2020 when he tested positive. Dude is usually a constant factor on the field so wouldn't worry about him getting injured again. Would worry if the line isn't the best. Kirk struggles with all out blitzes
