I 100% agree with Shannon, when he told Kirk, "You can't blame her for giving you up, when she was 15-years-old, because most 15-year-old girls can't even take care of themselves." However, that 15-year-old, eventually became a 25-year-old, a 35-year-old and a a 45-year-old, who had to want to know what became of their child and more. That's where I blame her. She was old enough AND knew the truth where she could have contacted Kirk and told him the truth. Even if she didn't know Rick was Kirk's dad, she should have openly asked Mr. Rick to swab, just to find out, when the rumors started. That's where I hold blame.

I can relate to everything Kirk is saying. I met my biological father at age 29. Although I was happy, I knew it wasn't going to be peaches and cream because we spent time getting to know one another. During the time, he fell ill and died 3 years ago from kidney failure at the ripe age of 75. But I did get the answer I was looking for which was he always wanted to be in my life, but my mom was the one that stopped it. Therefore, I understand Mr. Franklin better.

I can truly see the sovereignty and the grace of God in helping Kurt Franklins healing process. Giving him deliverance in levels of his life. Removing generational trauma, curses, rejection and egotism. Because pain he bares is carried by his mother also. Now that he has started the process of therapy to speak openly about his experiences and mental anguish. He and his biological mother will eventually communicate about her pain filled emotional baggage. Fear, denial, pride, embarrassment or feelings of guilt. God will be glorified in Kurt’s Testimonies because he will eventually be made whole. And the demons chained to his bloodline will be set free. He just has to take the deed and title back to his life as a healed and healthy man. Then his soul can be restored as psalms 23 proclaims. Amen Kurt 🙏🏿 Kudos to Shannon for having a platform to share his wisdom he gained from his painful experience as well. Beauty from the Ashes.

100% agree. This interview saddened me. We call ourselves Christians but don't walk it out.

@@302ec What do you mean by "We call ourselves Christians but don't walk it out"? Are you questioning Kirk's Christian walk?

@@roots1458 It's not for me to question his faith in God. I was saddened because our Christian brother missed an opportunity to share/show the love of God through forgiveness. He could have inspired thousands to forgive.

@302ec I totally agree with you. When a person holds unforgiving, it can be hurtful to a lot of people. Kirk Franklin, before he dies, I pray that he will forgive his mother. Forgiveness is the keys to all things and being happy with oneself. I am talking about what I know, not what I have heard. When a person forgives, they will feel so much better.

But here is the problem. JESUS said, in Luke 17:3, that repentance is REQUIRED for forgiveness. Deborah is not repenting.

That was the best advice for Kirk Franklin to consider counseling together with his mother with a view toward his mother coming to faith in God through Jesus Christ.

Yes, after him and his mother make amends, I believe that will bring about the healing that needs to take place. With God and counseling, it can be done. Prayers to you bro. Kirk🙏🏽

Pain could be the traumatization of why she doesn’t want to talk about it, kept it secret, denying even to herself. There are those that believe that they can run from hurt all their life. That if they just don’t face it, it will pass. The pain being so severe to them that they don’t even consider the pain their silence is causing. Some reason she did not want to share her baby with the biological father by revealing who the father truly was from the beginning. The imposter father was the way he was because he knew he was concealing the secret. And to tell the truth after so many years he probably thought devastating. Her pain could be from the biological father denying her pregnancy. Pain could be from intercoure against her consent. There is something there, possibly a deep wound that’s buried so long in her she doesn’t know how to dig it up, or hurts so much that she runs from its exhumation. Other possible explanation is that she just truly doesn’t care and only thinks of herself. Either is plausible… But I know this to be true, there is Liberty in truth, Jesus said, the truth shall make you free… When we stand before God there will be things, truth that will be revealed then, but how about now. Now is the time. Life holds the opportunity of change to do and be better. Truth is revealed either way, but it’s better now. God bless us all in Jesus name Amen 🙏🏽 ♥️

It was good to get some more color into the story on Kirk’s journey to finding his biological father. It’s crazy how Debra is still denying it after all this time! Sadly, so many people can relate to this story. Back in the day, a lot of this went on. DNA doesn’t lie though!
