(BTW Im not saying Dave is a bad musician, I think his riffs are genius and his playing his nice and tight, but his young behavior in Metallica wasnt it, and his fans in comment sections always want the last say.)

@@randomraisins7954 Dave had a really rough childhood, it caused issues esp when they got drunk, he would turn nasty very quickly. Personally I think if he had stayed the band might have disintegrated. We wouldn't have Megadeth and amazing songs like Holy Wars, and we wouldn't have Kirk's unique playing. He gets a lot of shit for his limitations (mostly from bedroom shredders), but his solos are more memorable than the majority of metal shredders' because of his phrasing and writing. The Ride The Lightning solo for example is absolutely epic.

He's okay but I think the issue is that in the genre he's kinda mediocre compared to some of the other players. It's also a bit unfair to be compared to Dave as they're completely different. He's a better guitarist than Lars is a drummer tho. Dude has written some amazing leads over the years

@@thrasher1730 Guys like Bob Rock and Mutt Lange are world class producers who seem to have a "smartest guy in the room" mentality imo. In the making of the Black album and Bob goes "Well show me what guitar hero is"(something of that nature) You can look at it two ways. Either its a producer trying to push somebody to be better, Kirk in this case. Or, its somebody that doesn't believe your worthy of that title. Bob's tone says it all. It came across as, hey I'm Bob Rock I know what great guitarist sounds like and you ain't one. (It was shitty) it was jab. Just the way Bob was looking at Kirk you can tell. That whole session, Kirk was a punching bag.
