Once nationwide gambling becomes legal, only a matter of time before the players will be able to be paid, along with the expanded playoffs. More money for everyone. Everyone claims more football of any kind is good, but as we saw with the boring ass bowl games of late; nobody wants to watch South harmon play Faber college. BUT if I can bet the game, you're onto to something.

This is not the problem. The problem is that only 3 teams are capable of winning the national championship. That won’t change no matter how many teams are in the playoffs

When the season long $$$ haul for CFB hit the billion mark, along with ESPN paying out a cool billion for SEC football and now paying for ACC football anybody with common sense would figure out what was going to happen. It is all about the $$$$$ now. The networks and corporations that run the playoff go by the same algorithms that will tell them what matchups will garner more viewership and of course $$$$

4:28 Herbstreit is incorrect in regard to Ohio State being undefeated prior to the matchup with Michigan in 1997. Ohio State had lost to Penn State that year. Gameday was in Ann Arbor that week, Michigan was indeed undefeated and did go on to win the national championship that year.

All of the whining about players getting paid and not realizing how much they get now compared to the average student on campus. I appreciate the hard work they put in. I also think many, not all, should acknowledge the fact that they would have never been accepted to the school of their choice but for the sport. They also receive thousands in what amount to stipends. They get free rent and meals, training and insurance. The list goes on.

Honestly we need an 8 team or 16 team playoff. Like honestly there will be massive blowouts, like Alabama facing Cincinnati for example, but mote schools need to have a pathway of making it to the national championship in order to encourage top recruits to go to their program. Like look at the top recruiting classes for next year, Clemson, OSU, and Alabama are all in the top 4 and its because these guys want to go to a school that has a chance of actually winning. Like if im a top recruit why would I go to any other school outside of those top 3 when I know they are the only teams that have a chance of winning in a given year.

NFL fans are okay if their team doesn't make the playoffs, because they know that all 32 teams have the same level of access to make the playoffs. College football is different. Blue Bloods get a leg up on a less tier programs, which is unfair. There needs to be a real path, an actual reasonable path, to make the playoffs.

A&M sucked this year. They only be three teams with a winning record. One of them was Auburn which lost to South Carolina and fired their coach. The SEC is grossly overrated. There’s Alabama and then Georgia and then that’s kind of it!

@graysonjones6877 3 года назад
@@nedhill1242 Kinda crazy to think that A&M sucked this year when we went 9-1 with the 5th hardest schedule in the country! I'm so ashamed of our year when our only loss was the same score as the National Championship!!!
@nedhill1242
@nedhill1242 3 года назад
@@graysonjones6877 That’s the type of statistical sleight-of-hand people use that in reality is just simple bullshit. Texas A&M did not have a good team this year. You only won three games against teams with a. winning record. For people that are stupid or ignorant your season looks great on paper and it’ll be great for recruiting, but for anyone that’s intelligent and does even the slightest bit of research you had a shitty season. Your team is grossly overrated. You beat three teams with the winning record. You only be two teams to finished in the top 25. Florida is equally or more overrated and Texas A&M. Florida only won one game against a team with a winning record and finished in the top 25. North Carolina in the bowl game is a meaningless win because almost all of their best players opted out. None of the experts are taking the ball games other than the playoffs seriously because most teams had so many players either out with Covid or they opted out. So you beat North Carolina without most of their best players. They beat Florida that was grossly overrated and only beat one team with the winning record. And you beat Auburn which was six and five and lost to South Carolina and fired their coach. Vanderbilt didn’t win a single game all year and you barely beat him 17 to 12. So you can “all the meaningless statistics you want when you dig into the numbers A&M is grossly overrated so as Florida because the SEC is overrated every year because people think the SEC is great and they ranked teams in the top 10 that end up sucking. Floor is not even close to the top 10 team. Texas A&M is a top 10 team. Saturdays down south which is an SEC homer publication there an article a few years ago that actually showed how overrated the SEC is because they’re only a handful of teams during the playoff era that have a winning record against teams that finished in the top 25. Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, and Oklahoma. The SEC is grossly overrated and Florida and Texas A&M were grossly overrated this year and yes your record look good on paper but actually Diggin who you beat and you beat anybody. Clemson would mop the floor with Florida or A&M. And don’t give me this Ohio State BS. Ohio State played like crap all year till the Clemson game because they looked all year towards that one game they made that game their Super Bowl and Clemson did not play well. But Clemson and Alabama are the two best programs in the country right now with Ohio State third and there’s really nobody close after that maybe Georgia. After that Oklahoma maybe Notre Dame but Florida and A&M are not even in a conversation.
@graysonjones6877
@graysonjones6877 3 года назад
@@nedhill1242 I mean you can pop off all you want, but also just said that A&M was a top 10 team in the nation (which is pretty good). I'm in no way trying to argue that we deserve to be higher ranked than we are (4), but find it hilarious how hard your stretching to make it seem like A&M was a bad team this year. At the end of the day, we played what is just statistically ranked the 5th hardest schedule and went 9-1. Our only loss was to the eventual national champion. Objectively we had a very good team and had a good season. Secondly, we are ranked above Oklahoma and Notre Dame because we have a better record than both. Notre Dame showed that it truly was a fluke that they beat Clemson when they were minus their QB and 6 defensive starters and backed that up by not really being competitive with bama. OU lost to Kansas State lmao. Don't need to look much further than that.
@nedhill1242
@nedhill1242 3 года назад
@@graysonjones6877 Lol rationalize it any way you want it was not a good team. I said the season looked good on paper but any objective look beyond the surface says otherwise. Saturday’s Down South wrote and article that examined this very type of season that looks good on paper but has a bunch of, in their words, hollow victories! Enjoy your over paid douchebag coach that recruited thugs to Free Shoes U and ran the program into the dirt before scurrying out of town as fast as possible! A&M seems like a good school with some great people too bad it’s going to be a fiasco!

All college sports are going to have problems. Athletic departments are funded by ticket sales, donations, media rights payments, and royalties on sweatshirts and other items. Athletic departments don't get money from tuition payments, state aid for state schools, and other funds that pay for professor salaries, classroom construction, lab equipment purchases, etc. With no fans in the stadiums and arenas, athletic departments have serious budget issues. Yet, a lot of college alumni won't donate to athletics. They would rather donate to academic departments, merit scholarships, need scholarships, buildings, and so on. This presents long-term problems. Does a school drop gymnastics, track, and wrestling, in order to have enough money for the glamor sports: football, basketball, baseball, and ice hockey?
@TheMinidude89
@TheMinidude89 3 года назад
It should be a 12 team playoff, with byes for the top 4. This keeps the race for top 4 alive, creates a debate for top 12 and would help way more teams makes the playoff which should increase parity cause more teams have playoff exposure and a “shot”.
@orclover2353
@orclover2353 3 года назад
and Alabama, Clemson, OSU have to play with their 2nd string. The playoff is moot if there is no parity. I appreciate kids having more power in their choices but they just aren't going to sit at any school except the top 4 and build depth and develop physically. The mass transfers of average to good players just means teams that used to develop players and use scheme to win can no longer compete. A transfer is going to take 18 months to get comfortable and every time a player transfers they start over.

What are the dumbest things I’ve ever read. It’s not a scam to players are friends and nobody thinks that except greedy people that think they should be getting paid more. Right now college players get the value of over $250,000 a year. Like Kirk said these guys have plenty of money. These guys are covered in tattoos which are expensive. Plenty of gold chains and air Jordans. And if you start playing football players can you go to pay everybody else because the title nine and all kinds other laws and stuff that will come down afterwards.
