Great episode. "We're not going to kill today" is one of my favorite Kirk speeches, and there's a great call-back to the speech in TAS in the episode "One of Our Planets Is Missing."
An interesting fact about James Doohan's refusal to follow Ambassador Fox's order to lower the shields. A similar things happened in his life where he refused the order of a superior officer because it meant putting his men in danger unnecessarily. I do love this episode. Hardly a surprise since I like most episodes. But this has an interesting premise and it's well played out. We can see this happening today where things are happening but they aren't being shown on the news. We're turning a blind eye to what's going on.
