Kirk Whalum's conversation with Robyn Crawford. Robyn was Whitney Houston's long-time best friend. 

After reading Robyn's book I realised she had played such a significant role in Whitney 's career. I wish Whitney had reached out to her, it would have been good for them to have that conversation.

Looking back at her life, Whitney was a strong person, she just wanted to live her life the way she wanted. She was full of joy and was expecting many things before her death but her bad habits and with everything she went through emotionally and physically, I believe her body was tired and not in good shape. We miss you Whitney❤️

I listen to this podcast this morning on Spotify. It was very interesting. I like when Robyn said "people love to focus on her relationship/affair with Whitney Houston, but it was more than that. It was a truly friendship. Whitney needed someone to understand her and ride with her". I agree with her because their friendship was more than "that", everything is not about sex. They understood eachother, trusted eachother and worked so well together. Look what Pat is doing now 😑

She said "If I was on Jeopardy, I would be hitting all the buttons....they wouldn't have any money!" I felt that Robyn because you were the one who was there from the very start! Regardless of how much denial people are in about you & Whitney's life together, it is very clear to me the love, trust, faith, joy, pain, loyalty, effort, & success you both endured in the journey! Y'all built it together!💯👌🏽

I don't associate Robyn's name with the rumors or their sexual relationship. When I think I Robyn I think of a REAL friend. The work she and Whitney did together doesn't come to my first, but I do think she contributed to Whitney's career greatly. In fact, I think she should be running Whitney's estate instead of Pat Houston. Robyn knew Whitney in a way others didn't including her family. And Robyn's goal would be to uplift and preserve Whitney's legacy rather than just making money. I trust Robyn over Cissy, Gary and Pat combined.

I know Robyn must miss Whitney daily. They were so close for so many years. Even when they did work together anymore, I'm sure they communicated here and there and thought about one another.

You can definitely tell that after Robin left that’s really when Whitney went through her worst those years after I’m just happy that Whitney is finally at peace she really never had anybody she could trust💔they all were a bunch of users and still are using her name to make money and maybe if Sylvia Would of still been her assistant she would maybe still be alive instead of Pat’s aunt who went to supposedly get cupcakes🙄

Thank you for sharing Whitney and yourself with us…🤗♥️ Also, there must of been lots of men, men in the band and others who wanted her, so they couldn’t marvel why would she want to be with a women, “in their minds” and during that era. So no matter what would have happened, there was a lot of pressure from everyone!!

Robyn you was Whitney Houston only true and living friend . I believe that if Robyn had stayed and Bobby Brown was out , I believe that things would have turned out much differently. I can relate so much to whitney and robyns relationship. Being best friends and experimenting but choosing true and loyal friendship. Thats exactly what my best buddy and I have gone through. We were friends, lovers, but most importantly best friends with a lot of love. We put everything aside to stay truly loyal to each other. True and deep friendship is more important than a romantic/sexual affair in my opinion.

The talent for what you, provided, was great as well . You are amazing in your own, right, in your gifts, and talents.

Why do people feel the need to speak on behalf of Whitney and her feelings and friendship with Robyn. You all don't know Whitney nor do you know Robyn. None of you all can speak on how Whitney felt or didn't feel about this woman. What I do know is Robyn was an integral part of Whitney's career for many years. Everyone who has worked with Robyn & Whitney professionally said Robyn was extremely professional and efficient. Can't say the same for some of Whitney's other employees and family members. Kirk Whalum also another exceptional, talented professional and saxophonist.

Thanks so much Kirk and Robyn for such a beautiful interview. Robyn as you said, you saw the dream with Whitney from the beginning. Your role was extremely vital. I also believe after you left, Whitney's life and career did a 365 turn. You, and Kirk were truly hold her down. Iconic people need to know two things: 1). They are loved, 2). That there will always be someone there to have their back! Regardless of what anyone says Robyn you had Whitney's back like no other, and she could always trust you. Like you said, you listened to her. Many of the people in her life didn't listen, but they saw here as an ATM. They brought more stress to her than they were a help. I'm just so glad you are here, to set the record straight. When others speak about things they ready don't know about. They've done all these biopics on Whitney, I really wish you were directing one. She loved, Dizzy, Ahmad Jamal, Sarah Vaughn, Nancy Wilson, and more, she passed, May 17, 2011, Whitney passed the following year. I play jazz, not a lot but I do play it cause of the memory of mom. When I play her song's, it feels, like she's in the room with me. Sometimes, that's the only time I feel her presence . I'm an only child, no kid's , so it's a lonely world, my world, but I keep busy and try to keep going. Have lost to many loved once since that year, til now. Hopefully people can now understand Whitney was not in a relationship with Robyn! She was a young teenager just experimenting with a friend, and that only lasted a very short time, as Robyn just said that’s not what Nippy wanted. She only wanted Robyn as a friend to be there to love her unconditionally❤️

I don’t see why people are so obsessed with living through celebrities that they have never met in life. The truth of the matter is Whitney Houston obviously loved and wanted to be with Robyn Crawford. She just chose not to because of the fame, time period, and most importantly family. Her family did not like Robyn. They don’t agree with same sex couples. The big elephant in the room is from my understanding and her work ethic Whitney comes off to me as a no nonsense type of person. Which would mean if she wanted a serious relationship with a man she would not have picked Bobby Brown. He was a beard and it showed in his actions throughout the entire marriage and how they treated each other. Who literally goes through all that trouble with a man? When you are that famous and Whitney Houston you could have easily got you a new one.
