Kirsti certainly sang this song in Norwegian, too. I have heard it in Norwegian a million times or more :-) Today I've listened to it in German and Swedish also, nice experience.
Our culture is actually quite rich if you dig deep enough. :) But sadly with every generation we leave a worse heritage behind it seems. Gladly songs like this bring you to a happier place for a few minutes and whenever you randomly remember them like at work..
I'm German and WRITTEN I would understand plenty of words, - I think so. But SPOKEN and SUNG only a few of words. In Dutch I understand much more - and spoken and sung, too, because that's very closed and more closed and a little more closed to German than the Scandinavian languages.
Meine beste Zeit damals.
