To sit alone in the brindaban forest and chant krishna name, and see him appear with that beautiful smile, is the greatest transcendental, spiritual experience, one can experience. It's said that krishna is more beautiful than 10,000 moons put together. And let us not forget how beautiful one moon is. So just thinking about the description that was made in this comment, it is not an illusion.
