This is one of the movie my mother use to talk about in 50's. I was very little. At that time I never thought that I will be watching this movie on RU-vid after 70 years. I miss those days brings tears in my eyes.
The dialogue director of this film was b. M. Dixit, who was my eldest maternal uncle. After about 60 years i have seen this film. The film reminded of my mama. He was a genius
While watching the titles I was amazed that Kavi Pradeep 's name and music director. Anil Biswas' name is in the third or fourth line.Is this the importance given to Geetkar and music director ? . Mukherjees should have displayed their names prominently. For ' Door hato aei duniya walo Hindustan ......' Kavi Pradeep has to go underground to evade arrest.
Superhit Movie!!! when Sholay was released. that could broke record of this movie, Till that time none of any indian movies could brake record of this movie. As usual, Ashok kr was superb. 13.6.2020
@ 10:20 "door hato aye duniya walo.... Beautiful respectable song. All songs are good. Thanks Kavi pradeep ji... Nice music by Anil biswas ji, now all the persons of making the movie and actors are no more in the world, (R. I. P) but thanks RU-vid for preserving the great film.
@@factronz6042 Well, it's debatable. Some people call K.L. Saigal as the first superstar. Nevertheless, Dadamuni is considered as the mega legend of Indian cinema and of course, he was a mega legend. Not only a great actor, but also a trained singer. From a young lover to a grandfather, he succeeded in each & every character including both positive & negative roles. His first movie came out in 1936, and last one came out in 1997. He worked for more than 5 decades. What a legacy!
@@himanshupathak1310 Yaa bro I was just telling that Rajesh Khanna was famous by the title of First Superstar of Hindi cinema. But there were so many legends before him that's for sure and Dadamoni was one of those mega legendary all rounder.
What a beautiful nice memories evergreen immortal musical film of past.we can say this is a kismat of our SANATAN sanskritik lifeline also of our cultural life.Ashok Kumar, Mumtaz, Shanti Very stylish multiplayer all rounders for many kinds of their roles.this film is so good today also.thanks Shemaroo for uploading a great film of 1943 ?
Old movies interesting movies without noise vulgarity artficiality violence bad music etc more near to true life and simplicity good music and no trick photography Wonderful
At least 02 beautiful songs,e g 1)"Ab Tere Siva Kaun Mera Krishna-Kanhyya, Bhagwan !Kinare Se Laga De Meri Nayya"-marvellously sung by Mumtaz Shanti nd 02)"Dheere dheere Aa Re Badal Dhire,Mera Bulbul So Raha Hai,Mera Bulbul So Raha hai,Shor-Gul Na Macha", rendered by Mumtaz Shanti nd Ashok Kumar! Both being highlight of the movie. An 80-Yrs.old movie, still enjoyable.Ashok Kumar nd Mumtaz Shanti-at their best, ably supported by David nd Kanu Roy.Ace Director,Gyan Mukherjee's work, just brilliant.
I loved the last scene. Director solved all mysteries in few minutes. And everybody lived happily ever after! It was matter of time anyway. Nice songs. Pre Lata Mangeshkar. Ashok Kumar's performance is superb. He was a gifted actor.
I haven’t watch Indian movies for a long time , nowadays most of them are trash .....this was a real gem . This is how cinema in our country should be like . 🖤
This movie was released in 1943 and most of the scenes of this movie are still copied in different movies. Main difference is that the director, actor, dialogue writer, screenplay writer, etc did not have any reference previously from where they could copy. Movie making itself was no less than a rocket scientist job in those pre independence era. Such finesse in each department of this movie is unbelievable. The intro scene of Ashok kumar. Thinking a concept where giving a heroic intro to a character itself was new to cinema. Since then the hero's grand entry has been a concept used innumerable times till now. Sister getting pregnant before marriage, happy ending of the movie, lost and found concept, being hero but with grey shades, only doctor in the world who could treat the ailment of the hero or heroin, police having soft corner for repeat offenders, using female lead to catch the hero, hero having a friend who is actually fed up of the hero but still has soft corner for the hero, events occurring rapidly towards the end of the movie, etc etc etc are the concepts used in this movie which have been copied in many movies until now. Hats off to the script writer who introduced this concepts for the first time in this movie. Its an achievement no less than inventing a rocket.
Iconic film. Had the first aggressively patriotic song, in pre independence India. Required guts. Ashok Kumar also sang in this movie, the undertone of the voice clearly resembles that of Kishore Kumar. In 1960, a remake of this movie was made in the name of Boy friend, starring Shammi Kapoor and Madhubala.
This movie was 100 years ahead of its time. We listen same dialogues even now also in new movies that were written at that time in 1943. Many of the scenes and instances of this 1943 movie resemble with movies of 2020. The question is who is copying whom? It invested 5 lakhs and earned 1.10 cores without national and international publicity expenses and copyright incomes. Hence, it is regarded as one of the first ranking , best movie, maximum return earning movies in India.
It was probably the highest grossing movie of the pre-independent India. First Indian movie with the anti-hero theme (it was a trendsetter) . First Indian movie which grossed 1 crore at the box office. A milestone and a very significant movie of Indian cinema. Also, it gave the Indian cinema its first superstar in form of Ashok Kumar. Dadamuni Ashok Kumar might have been the biggest filmstar of India in 1940s.
What a movie, incredible story, acting ,every actor done justice with his ,her character, this would be ist of kind film of Bombay film industry, unforgettable, unbelievable,
I knew about this movie through an interview of Lata Mangeshkar ji who revealed that he saw this when she was very young, and told that she had seen this more than 50 times. She often used a VHS copy to see it over and over again. First time watched this movie, really enjoyed. This year this movie will completed 79 years. Each character played their role very well. 👏♥️♥️😊😊
Ashok kumar became first supar star of Bollywood from this movie comments given by sadat monto in his book, all records of all type of Bollywood broken by this movie, Ashok kumar was first natural actor of Bollywood.
It's India 's First anti-hero movie. For the first time it was shown that a hero can also be act as negative character (pickpocket) . And it was blockbuster movie . Ashok Kumar was such a Legendary actor
🖖⏳⏳⏳ first hit film of India .... Ashok Kumar sahab what a free flow acting unmatched and unstoppable with confidence at excellent level ...... Very nicely directed ....🙏👍✌️👌🖖👏👏 Only thing which distrubes in old films is too much cigarettes ...from 50 to 70 ..80 .... hardly they leave frames without smoking .....🚬🚬
I came here after listening kavi pradeep' song and firstly my intention was to listen his song but after watching this movie ...i really loved it too...kavi pradeep (ramchandra dwivedi) ji ko pranam unki aatma ko shanti...
this is the first blockbuster movie of Indian cinema which hit the different Theatres of the country with the consistent shows for more than a year.. it's one song' door hato ai duniya waalo Hindustan hamara hai ' was the first banned song of the Indian cinema (by the then British government )
First block buster film of India Ashok Kumar declair first super star of India what a record ,1936 to 1996 a great artist remaind all film industry regard for him Prem
Very interesting and well made movie. This is the 2nd time I'm watching it and certainly not the last time. Ashok Kumar as usual is unmatchable in acting. His facial expressions are on point.
नई-नई मूवी टेकनॉलजी आई थी तब और उस समय के हिसाब से ये शानदार फिल्म है । 1913में तो अनबोलl film aa paai thi or 1931 me pahli bolti film...to kahne ka abhipraay ye hai ki vah time बॉलीवुड का केवल शैशव काल था...
The anti British feelings are clearly displayed in this pre-independence era film. Don't know how the film passed the censors but I salute the makers of this movie for including the song "Dur hato ai duniya walo Hindustan hamara hai". The scene with the British lady calling an Indian Kaala Admi made me sit up with anger.
In 1995 ashok kumar told in zee tv program that during shooting of this movie kismet in 1943 , we deliberately included name of German japani in a song to avoid censor board which was under control of British general.
Kavi pradeep ne ek TV interview me bola tha ki unhone German aur Japanese add karawaya tha taki angrez gana cut na kare aur jab "Aaj himalaya ki choti se" gana first time Bombay first show ke time start hua to log khade uthe desh ke samman me
Watching this movie as I've to present a critical analysis tmrw in my class about ROLE OF MOVIES IN NATIONALISM ERA ... Its truely a gem...timless gem 💎❤
First 1 crore kamane wali movie....wo bhi 1943 me .....mujhe lagta hai....agar year dekhe to one crore. US jamane ke hisab se aaj tak koi itna pesa nhi kamai...sholey 15 crores kamai tha par 35 saal Baad...aur 35 saal me one crore ki value 100 crores se bhi Jada hota hai...aur aaj ki date me Kam se Kam 10000 crores hoga
Yrr jo bhi bolo purani chiz khud main ek atit hai us time hme dunya ki koi jankari nhi thi jb ye film aaya tha aur jo is film main kaam kr rhe ab unka koi pta nhi hoga ..mgr film dekhne se aysa maloom ho rha ki ye sb abhi just samne hai zinda hai

Today is the sad news that Lata Mangeshkar is no more. I get this news from TV news . News channel just tell us that Lata jee to liked and watched Film Kismat 50 times . I have not yet seen the movie . I shall surely watch this movie .
Vividly remember a GK question longest run film Kismet unbelievable record - 3 years 8 months. Ashok Kumar became all time superstar. Them was freedom movement song "Door hato duniyawalo Hindusthan hamara hai.."Kavi Pradeep , music composer Anil Biswas and singers including Aamir Bhai Karnataki have given their best.
My late father told me to watch this movie and then compare ashok kumar with dilip kumar because ashok kumar was his favourite & my favourite is dilip kumar and no doubt ashok kumar is a genuine actor
Ashok Kumar was senior to Dilip Kumar, of almost 10 years. When the trio of Dilip-Raj-Dev entered, Ashok Kumar was already the biggest superstar. In one interview, Dilip Kumar had mentioned that during the making of 'Kismet', he used to go to the sets of this movie and he used to sit & watch throughout the day as to how Ashok Kumar acts so as to learn from him and he often used to run behind Ashok Kumar for seeking advice for enacting difficult scenes with ease. Dilip Kumar admired him so much that he used to call him "Ashok Bhaiya". Dev Anand was a fan of Ashok Kumar and he aspired to become an actor after watching the movies of Ashok Kumar. Shammi Kapoor considered him as his idol.
What a movie...😄😄and this happens to be the debut movie of great Mehmood Ali Sahab best comedian. You can see he plays the young ashok kumar {child artist) scene 39:44.😄
