I had stopped following them when they got to this lineup. But now that I'm catching it after the fact, I have to say I like it. Bruce plays it totally different from Ace, but it sounds really good. I like his versions of this song in particular. The fact that it's acoustic makes it over the top. There is another video of Bruce playing this tune in a nightclub somewhere that's really good also. Paul still had his voice here, and Gene was as close to normal as Gene could be during this member lineup. I think it was dumb for them to go back to makeup. Maybe just for certain shows like Halloween or new years. It would be more special that way. Just my 2 cents.
Wow - what an awesome version! I remember when a bootleg video of this circulated in the late 90s. This and C’mon and Love Me should have been on the MTV Unplugged album...
I bid on that guitar, it was sold at the leelands (kiss leftovers) auction. I also successfully bid on the guitar Bruce is playing, also a Chet Atkins model but an early version

As much as I like that kiss era without a doubt it gets annoying when everybody slangs ace-or peter-about they musical abilities.they were the originators THEY created the parts that all the others try to replicate and they were the best. All the other line ups definitely had their role in kiss(apart from the boring latest one)but the original was the magic.🎸🥁💋⭐️⚡️😼
Snore. People do not put down Ace's abilities. He wrote and played some excellent solos. Wrote or co-wrote multiple classic KISS songs. Undisputed. He's not great on an acoustic guitar and not the best vocalist. But not everyone is perfect. Peter to me brought a whole lot less to the table.
The head banger in front of Gene was like the icing on the cake. In this case the performance. Gene even likes it. Should have done this song on MTV unplugged. It would have raised the roof. Oh well, He'll of a job here.

I was front row in NYC directly under Gene. What an awesome day it was! It was pricey (for the times) and I couldn’t really afford it. Glad I didn’t let that stop me....lol
Have u watched MTV unplugged? Ace was embarrassing even he said he originally wanted to do shock me but he couldn't do it on an acoustic. Ace and Peter have the privilege of being the originals had they replaced any of the replacements people would say what the fuck is this
Yeah alot of times. Ace considered doing shock me but realised that the solo just wouldnt do it on an acoustic guitar. No disrespect for Bruce or Eric but people want the original lineup. Why want silver when theres gold. Plus Bruce, whos a class act guy, really was more of an employee than a part of the band.
