Empress...this song by Kiss, "Beth", was their BEST and their BIGGEST HIT rock ballad of their career...as a song on their greatest hits record album, it was undoubtedly responsible for wearing out MILLIONS of record player needles for at least two decades after it was released...because the song was SO loved and popular, but it didn't get that much AM (or later FM) radio play because it was a slow song, and a long song.
Now you have seen the least representative songs by KISS, now it's time to see the real 😅hard and badass KISS that made everyone love them. They did the Midnight Special show 1975 early on, and it is killer. "Deuce", "She", and "Black Diamond" are the songs. Watch the entire 3 song segment and you will love it. Great reactions, peace. ❤
I must confess My Empress, KISS is a band I can take or leave. But I do admit being a huge Joy-Jean fan. With that may I say, you look absolutely radiant. Marriage seems to be suiting you just fine!! Take care Luv, RNB
It's always nice to see your reaction. And you are soooo pretty too. I would have a suggestion for a reaction: the Swedish band Dirty Loops "Next to you", then "Breakdown" and "Work shit out" and maybe Dirty Loops with the world famous guitar player Cory Wong and his band together "Thriller" and "Follow the light". You will be overwhelmed. Have fun, groovy greetings Kay
This song was written by Peter Kris the drummer who normally doesnt song about his love while he was away she died in a car crash and this was a way to honor his love for her knowing and just listen to the song without the video could make you cry cause this was heart breaking for Peter but use you pain and you can find a lot of emotions and as usual you rock😍🤙
Kiss was the best merchandising rock band that ever was. Kiss was never a Heavy Metal band, but a rock band. Do Detroit Rock City from Kiss Alive 2 if you want a rocking song.
This is another song that is not their typical style. For some real KISS-style bangers, try: Rock and Roll All Night Detroit Rock City Dr. Love Strutter
I feel that Kiss is not a normal heavy metal band but like T-Rex and Marc Bolan. You can find sensitive songs from Heavy Metal bands too, such as Uriah Heep's song Melinda from the 70s. It's always nice to see your reactions, thank you Joy-Jean 💋
Rock and Roll All night, I love it loud, Detroit Rock City, Parasite, God of Thunder... any of those are good options (God of Thunder is definitely one of they Heavier ones). Love Your reactions as always
Please add my vote, Empress. "I Wanna Rock and Roll" is more their signature sound. I thank you for making ne aware of this wide of Kiss that i was unfamiliar with. Very nice indeed, very rouching 😇💐🤣
Empress, here is information about the history of this song This song dates back to a band called Chelsea, which future Kiss drummer Peter Criss was in with the guitarist Stan Penridge from 1970-1972. Criss and Penridge came up with a song called "Beck," which was about the wife of their guitarist Mike Brand, whose name was Becky. She was constantly interrupting their band practices asking when Mike was coming home, and the song was a joke directed at him. In August 2000, less than a year before Penridge died at age 50, he explained to the KissFAQ: "'Beck' was written, almost word for word, from Mike Brand's responses to his wife's constant calls that interrupted our rehearsals. It got to the point where I wrote down his remarks over a period of three or four days in what I called my 'wizard book.' It was merely a small notebook I carried to jot down silly sayings, sketch in, to save ideas. If you look at the lyrics and view them as a hen-pecked hubby's remarks to his nagging wife you'll see what I mean. Just pause after every sentence and pretend there's a bitch at the other end of the line. You'll catch it - I'm sure. Absolutely not responsible at all. Another poorman's copyright by me in '70." Penridge and Criss recorded a demo of "Beck" but never released the song. In 1976, after Criss joined Kiss, he and Penridge revived the song and with the help of producer Bob Ezrin, they changed the title to "Beth" and made it more sentimental, changing the end of the first verse from: "I know you love complaining, but Beck what can I do?" to. "I think I hear them callin', Oh, Beth what can I do?" Source: Songfacts
I just now discovered your channel, I love your vibe! If you haven't heard the band Death Cab for Cutie, I'd love to see your reaction and hear your thoughts! The song I would go with is Transatlanticism. 💖
Empress, that was not a great version of "Beth". For a song more in line with what you might expect from Kiss, try "Rock and Roll All Night". That said, it seems that you haven't given the band "Boston" a reaction video. I suggest the 17 times Platinum debut album, and the three singles "More Than A Feeling", "Piece of Mind" and "Foreplay/Longtime" from that album. I recommend starting with "Foreplay/Longtime" as I believe you will find it the most interesting. Any song from that album I'm certain you will enjoy and give you a thirst for more.
i dont like reactors all doing i was made for loving you, and beth either.. i wish people would listen to some of the early albums first.. probably would run into copyright bs though.. at least some reactors have done 'i love it loud'
Not only is this the worst version of Beth, this is also the worst song to represent them as a band. God of Thunder. Detroit Rock city. Strutter. Love gun.
