Searching in the darkness Running from the day Hiding from tomorrow Nothing left to say Victims of the moment Future deep in doubt Living in a whisper till we start to shout We're creatures of the night We're creatures of the night Breathing in the madness Spitting out the lies Searching for an answer Keep your alibis Don't know where we're goin' Just know where we've been Remember when the clock strikes twelve The losers always win We're creatures of the night We're creatures of the night Searching in the darkness Running from the day Hiding from tomorrow Nothing left to say Gathering up our courage Ready for the fight Howling in the shadows Till we start to bite We're creatures of the night
Adrian Jenkins Critcs are the worst. They judge bands based on trends and what they already think of past albums. Radiohead, Coldplay, Pearl Jam, and U2 all released garbage after great albums and were given glowing reviews. Critics were still judging Kiss on The Elder and Unmasked for this one. (Both albums actually had great moments but they also had duds that ruined it)
Great album. I was just reading Paul's new book and he said Eddie Van Halen stopped by and listened to that solo while they were working on the album and trying to find a replacement for Ace. He said Eddie was really impressed with the guitarist (Steve Farris). In the end, it didn't work out and they went with Vinnie Vincent.
One of the most kickass KISS albums, no doubt. "Saint and Sinner" is the ultimate break-up song. No need for therapy or a talk with your mama, just crank this song repeatedly and you'll be fine.
Gabriel Charlyx I like your snoopy avi, haha. I'm allergic to mornings too, by the way, and I avoid them as much as possible. A real live creature of the night.
THIS SONG ABOVE IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE WITH KISS EVER! I PLAYED THE SONG TODAY, BECAUSE THE LEGENARY DRUMMER ERIC CARR SHOULD BEEN 70 YEARS TODAY. I MISS HIM A LOT! I PLAYING AT 12 TH JULY 2020. ERIC CARR 12 TH JULY 1950-24 TH NOVEMBER 1991. REAST IN PEACE. YOU ARE STILL THE BEST DRUMMER IN KISS ALWAYS!
Senior year of high school, yeah,I still listen to this album. They were our jam, along with Ronnie dio/Last in Line 1984 was the year of many cool bands and partys with girls who did wild things.
I love this.. I've listened to KISS since I was 8... im 22 now.. Im a huge Lady Gaga fan now and I can notice a lot of similarities in her newer stuff and 80s KISS. Personally this was my favorite era for KISS music. This song is pure genius. Listen to Marry The Night by Lady Gaga and see if you can't notice some similarities
The drum sound is something else...Eric Carr shows his "visit card" in this title track. Not only he and his fantastic talent, but the drum engineer who worked is this album deserves a medal. I never heard anything like this.
At this time of the century, music began to change. This KISS music, was what was to shape the future of rock and roll, well into the 90"s. Paul has always tried to bring an authentic brand of Rock and Roll for future legions to fallow. Give it your all. I dare you to keep up.
Paul Stanley - lead vocals, rhythm guitar Gene Simmons - backing vocals Eric Carr - drums, backing vocals Mike Porcaro (of Toto) - bass guitar Steve Farris (of Mr. Mister) - guitar solos & lead fills Adam Mitchell - additional guitar Bob Kulick was around also, but none of his studio work made it onto the actual album.
Awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome song. Best song by Kiss for me from their very best album, love it love it love it. The solo in this song goes right trough your soul if you have one
They were running radio commercials for this a few days before it came out and I will never forget hearing the snippets of the songs and how STRONG, powerful and urgent they sounded! They were definitely ready to climb back in the rock and roll Heavy Metal stakes and taking no prisoners. Awesome memories and awesome music...
You're all a bunch of f****** idiots if Peter Criss Cola hadn't broke his hands in a car wreck and was never the same we would not even have this discussion Black Diamond says it all
Even though Lick It Up sold way more copies, i think Creatures of the Night is actually what saved KISS in terms of their musical direction. If MTV and rock stations had done more to promote the album and Ace Frehley could have playrd on the album and at least some of the concerts, maybe it would have done better commercially. Plus Dynasty, Unmasked, and Music From The Elder had alienated fans of their hard rock material.
There was no way that anyone was going to give Creatures of the Night a break after the dismal previous albums by Kiss. It's a great album, but it also had to pay the price of poor decisions for years before.
It´s actually pretty overrated. It´s definitely not better than Lick it Up, Animalize or Asylum, but that´s exactly what most people (including the band) claim.
Although I'm a dyed-in-the-wool KISS fan since the Summer of '77, coming off of the trio of "Dynasty" - "Unmasked" & "The Elder", which I loved...this album BLEW ME THE HELL AWAY when I first heard it. The sound of this is so colossal!
This is their best and Heaviest! No sell out they did more glam than heavies bad move! Kiss not really respected because they have always been too glam they should have kept it heavy like this album Creatures!
I can't deny I rejected this band about how they looked (what I did with almost all rock and their subgenres), and for just one song I listened and hated but now I see I was such an idiot, God this band rocks¡
I remember the first time I heard "I Was Made for Loving You" on the radio as a kid and liked it and then heard it was by KISS. I was like, "They suck." Then, my brain rationalized, "But you liked the song before you knew it was by them. You have to admit it." My love grew from there.
Aleja Ramirez Paul Stanley said that "KI$$ is a band that either you get it or you dont." Welcome aboard! 1st show I ever saw Riverfront Coliseum Cincinnati Ohio 12 yo w/Judas Priest opening 1979....let's just say "I got it!"
The best Kiss CD ever, without any fillers. This is what Kiss should have stayed with, not some of the crap they put out after Creatures...like Hot in the Shade.
Dear Paul Stanley, Your Rock and Roll/Heavy Metal scream is so beautiful to listen to. You have the craziest/best sounding wail I have ever heard. Thank you for all the great Rock and Roll. P.S. Gregory Alan Bailey
Underrated is the word. Its unbelievable how this album never went platinum. It should have been their best selling album ever for the quality that went into it. I think it sucks how Kiss' attempt to re-establish their fan base with this release wasnt successful. The fans who gave up on Kiss after they moved away from their hard rock roots on albums like Unmasked, should have given Kiss another chance with this record. Its the greatest injustice of all time how little recognition this LP got.
Saw them in San Francisco W/Motley crue opening. Still the best concert I've ever seen to this day. Somebody nailed Paul right in his left hand with a hair brush and he went off on the guy for 5 minutes ,, ahhh great rock and roll moment. there was a near riot outside while waiting to get in and Bill Grahm came out and calmed everybody down. never been called an asshole with such passion before lol, good times.
I PLAYED THIS FANTASTIC SONG AT 12 TH JULY 2019, WHEN ERIC CARR, HE SHOULD BEEN 69 YEARS OLD. ERIC CARR 12 JULY 1950-24 NOVEMBER 1991. R.I.P ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS!
