This was great and what I was looking for. I'm torn between resurrection and the 45th. I guess it just depends on on my mood, if I play a resurrection I appreciate each and every band member and the songs themselves and if I play 45th it just takes me back to how I originally heard it. Would be great to hear some talk on The Cults album 'Love' remaster. It just seems to me the bass is way too high in it on certain songs.

the P33C-20006 Japanese CD is worth comparing.

The original Japanese CD P33C is worth seeking out.

Megadeth OG 's vs the Mustaine Re-Masters... This would be an Amazing series. Dave fucked every album, except the first one!!

That will take some compiling, but it would be intriguing. I'm on it.

I can't stand the remasters and still listen to the original ones. I thought I was the only one. lol

Correct me if I'm wrong but you need to run everything through a receiver for various reasons. Turntables don't have D/A converters, etc. You don't have to have a 24 band equalizer or any presets.

What you need is an amplified source of some kind. I bypass the receiver because all receivers have some level of built in eq. Also, like most people, I have my receiver set up for what I think sounds good. I wanted to remove that from the equation as much as I could. Depending on your equipment, many players have outs with just a bit on amplified signal. My CD from the 90's does. And my turntable does as well. I record them direct into a zoom H4N Pro and set the levels there. Now at the end of the day, whatever you or anyone else listens to this on will sound different than what someone else will hear. So it's not an exact science by any means but I do feel it's fair in the sense of using for comparison.

@@CobrasFireRockPodcast I disagree. The output on your CD ( like the ones I have) can go through the headphone jack (with volume control) but that source is not a perfect analog source like you think it is. The same goes for your turntable. That's no where near a perfect source to listen to because it has no source to drive the signal once it get it. It is the source but something has to be done with it. You don't have the power from the source to power the signal properly into your headphones. Simple as that. Your recover analogy is also wrong. The receiver isn't giving the source material a sound or flavor of sound. Just use the same setting each time. The receiver is taking the source and adding the power that it needs to reproduce it. The receiver isn't going to make the original Destroyer pressing sound better or worse than the 87 or 2003 pressing or original Japanese import CD sound better or worse.

@@contentm3893 like most people, I have my receivers EQ's tweaked to whatever room it's in to my personal preference. I guess I don't feel like zeroing all that out just for these videos. Plus even with everything at zero, every receiver has it's own sort of sound. At the minimum, it alters it more than a direct source out. Regardless this is a consistent comparison from beginning to end. Like I said, the difference may be nominal, primarily since I have no idea what anyone watching is listening through. It is my effort to get it as close to the source as possible. I never said perfect nor is that possible. Just that it's better than running the audio through a receiver before recording. I mainly wanted to explain my method for those who care.

@@CobrasFireRockPodcast That's not my point. I'm first talking about what you are running you audio through to listen to. It's not quality because you think you're keeping the source and path to your ears honest. But your not.

@@contentm3893 I explained my process and how I did it. I also explained it's benefit may be minimal due to the fact I have no control over what people choosing to listen to this video, listen to it with. You put words in my mouth, or at the very least misquote me to make some sort of point. Nothing I've said is remotely wrong. It's clear that regardless of my explanation, you will interpret it how you want. Your questions aren't geared towards discussion, you want to give a lecture. I did one of these and was encouraged to do another. You are coming off like someone pissed they didn't do it. Go find someone else to incorrectly correct. Peace.
