I like the fact that I can just totally do this natural nail stuff because I hate something bothering me, it was a bad black mark blood clod on my left index finger nail, so that's why I am thinking it is a good idea to do this natural acrylic nail life changer.
Hello * I enjoyed this. As a MANICURIST I have never seen anything like this. I understand the blend to make the nail Stronger and gel for flexibility. I agree that the support arches was missing. An a short nail will be safe with no re-enforcment for strength. Soak off like removing for a new set ? *
I loved this video sooo much thank you!!! I had nooo clue that they had minature kits just to do your own acrylic!!! I have been wanting this!!! Thank YOU SOOO MUCH
Yeah, me too lol... I guess time will tell. I don't think this is something I could get a full 2 weeks out of but for quick set its okay. Thank you for watching! :)
I am wondering if the gel activator were brushed on with a really good brush would that lessen the chance of bubbles/imperfections? That way it would be saturated like a sheet of the liquid instead of spraying droplets, hence getting bubbles from them? Great tutorial, I am definitely going to try this. Btw any chance if you might know if using gel polish and light over this would be ok to do?
I have heard on 2 other channels that people are doing the first layer just passed the nail tip about 3/4 of the way up, then the second layer go to the cuticle which prevents build up at the cuticle area of the nail and it will build a bit of an apex. Whaat I would like to know is how well this lasts, and if you get lifting at all?
soak them in pure acetone, it will dissolve the nail product but leave your natural nail intact. The soaking can take anywhere from 5-20 or so minutes, depending on the thickness of nails.
Hello,B... I have been watching ur vids now for like 2 in abit yrs,I love them!!!!! Now,I have dun every kind of nail system that is out on the market,I have worn acrylics for like 10 yrs,I got borded & they wer getting to be a little time consuming(I do my moms, bff & whoever else asks)so I went to gel,got bored of that & went back to acrylic.......now all of a sudden I find out I'm alergic ,I'm thinking from the monumer & its probably going to be a problem to use any kind of glue for tips(almost same ingredients)any suggestions? I know you can use the acrylic mix to put tips on what about using some kind of gel, hard, soak off, shellac, gellish? I'm going to dye if I can't wear nails!!!!!! Please HELP!!! Bekka
TFS! I know this is an old video but I have acrylic and I have the brush on glue and activator from other sets that I have.....do you think I can use what I already have, or do I have to use the kiss product to get your results?......Thanks.....Much Love.....Dee xoxo
How long do these last I've had a kit exactly like that from Sally's beauty supply they turned out beautiful like yours but they began to show cracks within a few days
Do you if there’s a difference between this kit and the other that is the same brand and everything is the same but the packaging is different??? And the French tip nails are also as long as the natural tip and this kit you used the French tips were already cut
+Cathy Santiago I had this set on for 10 days. The health of the nails will depend on how you remove the product. If you pick it off it will damage your nails. You need to soak it off with acetone. You would prep your nails before applying, which includes buffing the natural nail surface. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching :)
I took. Me. An. While. Growing my. Natural nails. But now. I. Have. Natural. Kinda long nails. Sorta. Of wonders. If. I. Should. Buy. This. Nail.kit. Too. Keep. At. Home
+Deanna Cortez I had them on for 10 days without breaking.. I guess it would depend how hard you are on your nails and how many coats you do... Thank you for watching! :)
Nail Technician here- You should be able to use the gel (which is basically nail glue) and the activator for silk/fiberglass wraps. Usually the gel/glue is called resin but really it's the same thing. just make sure you use the same brand of gel/glue/resin as the activator. ^_^
+Phylicia Baxter 60 is a pretty good rate. Most people charge a dollar a min. The 20 dollar salons are not always good for us. A lot of them are breaking the laws left and right, only one person has a license sometime, and to top it off they often use MMA. I'd rather pay 60 and have someone take their time, and know that my health is in good hands. 😉
+Phylicia Baxter Actually no I'm not. You get what you pay for. I do nails and haven't gotten my nails done in a long time at a salon. But, in learning how to do them I have learned how awful most 20 dollar salons are. Most of them just want to get you in and out and skip steps and use knock off products, and are unhygienic. If I do go back to get my nails done ever, I will pay the extra for a nail tech that knows their worth. Even 35 is a fair price for a set. Do you know how they can afford to do a set for 20? The products are cheap, and in the Nail industry cheaper is not always best. I'll take wasting my money over risking my health any day.
that's from wiping off too much of the powder .... you shouldn't of used the fan brush on the nail and only used it to wipe off the skin area .... I know this cuz I did it both ways and had much better results when I didn't wipe anything off the nail after I dipped it ...I left all the powder there and used the gel as they tell you too and the nail looked great and were strong and I had no white spots or bubbles or peeling etc.
I have brush on activator, and you absolutely have to wipe the excess powder off, or you'll end up with a lumpy mess and a lot of filing!! And a ruined brush!! I've never used the spray, just brush on.
If you already have natural nails at a length you like, can you do all the other steps without putting the tip on. It seems like a great way to make my nails stronger.
So I tried the kit after watching this and a few other videos. It was easy to use. The tips you gave were great. My only issue with the kit is that the nails come off fairly easy. I found myself redoing nails every week because they popped off during normal daily routines. I will say that you may need 4 dips instead of 3 depending on how well you file your nails. Overall this is a great product if you are trying to save money. Definitely easier than overlaying acrylic the regular way.
I have bought this kit several times and was happy with the results each time. A great way to strengthen natural long nails or you can extend them using the tips provided. Back fills are easy to do with just a swipe of the gel, a dip in the powder a few times and cure. Great video!
It's just like the backscrachers system. I use the backscratchers system for people who are allergic to monomer and other acrylic products. But the gel activator should be used when the gel is wet. Then you will file and buff the nail to achieve the smooth surface. U did it right. It will usually have that textured surface when using dip systems. Some will be more textured than others. ;-)
Books With B im a licenced nail tech and the "professional" system I have was $100!! For the price this is a great kit. A fill is pretty simple, I'd recommend watching a video on doing a fill and you should be good!!!
you can buy those fairly inexpensive at any beauty supply (Ex. Sallys Beauty Supply). I think I paid 7 for mine and its been going strong without issues for over 5 years now.
+brittany martin I LOVE THIS KIT an if u use just apply ur liquid gl like a polish an sprinle ur powder seems to build a better thickness in the week areas. this is my go to kit LOVE LOVE THIS KIT Good Luck Doll
***** I use the liquid like im appling polish then I sprinkle powder on nail then brush liquid only in weak spots to build I have to do a new set for xmas I will record an tag you if you want I dont normally record an post things of this sort but I will if it will help explain for you Doll
Jos 10 days because I had other items to review. I don't usually wear a mini more then a week. I try to do a new nail art design each week as I test out products. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching.
Couldn't you have used your own gel and powder to do this instead of purchasing this kit ? I mean , I know regular acrylic won't be as fine , but it shoud still work , right ?
***** Yup! It works just about the same way :) I was asked to review this particular kit, so I wanted to use what was in the kit (aside from the topcoat). Also, with gel I would be able to build up the nail more and make it stronger. Overall it was a good little kit for beginners but I'll stick to my gels and acrylics. TFW!!
when I bought my kit, the gel polish was REALLY thick. when it came to applying a 2nd layer on top of the powder, it was virtually impossible to get it smooth. it was sooo lumpy. anyone else have that problem?
I tried this tonight and my nails turned out terrible. I couldn't get rid of the line between the tip and my real nail. Your nails turns out so pretty. I will have to keep polish on them to hide all my mistakes until I can take them off. Oh well!
Dip gel nails are stronger than acrylics; My nails actually don't break as easy after doing Dip & when you have to replace, what they don't tell you is you have file then soak off the dip gel before doing a new set ( I don't use the fake tips before dipping, i just use powder on regular nails) ... however my nails are in much better shape than they were before doing the powder vs acrylic and they grow out strong and natural. Dip powder can be bought in many colors also @ Amazon
Can you tell me why you choose to do this over the nail glue ones? Do these last longer? I am going on a trip for 2 and a half weeks and I can't decide if I wanna just bring a bunch of KISS glue on nails, or try to one of these, or just get real aryclics at the salon. Do you have any advice?
the finished result looks really nice! when you filed the tip line to blend it with your natural nails I noticed you said to avoid filing your real nail, shouldn't you file your eating bails before applying the tips to give the product better adhesion?
+Ripley Hamster Hello, Yes you want to buff the shine off the nail plate but there is no need to over file. The acrylic/gel will stick just fine on a buffed surface (better if you prime and dehydrate). I made that mistake when I started out and ended up over filing and making divots in my nails. Beginners mistake, lol.. Sorry I didn't explain that better in the video. Hope that helps! :)
Thank you that does help. I really like this kit but every time I use it the brush on gel hardens in the bottle before I'm done with both hands even when I wipe the brush in between applications. I have even gone so far as to dip it in acetone in between applications. It doesn't really seem to help that much.
I have a question, what is the purpose of dip powder nails?? I’m trying Kiss Brush On Gel Nail kits. I’m still learning how to do it this is my 2nd time of using this Brush On Nail Kit. How long does the Dip Powder last? Like a couple of weeks ??
I bought the dip kit yesterday tried it out was horrible. I had to have been doing something wrong because the acrylic turned out all wrong. The nails kept falling off they wouldn't stay and I got glue everywhere. I went to my normal nail salon today and got it done by a professional. Pure waste of my $15 at Walgreens. Ughh!! 😞😞
