Are you ready for rebreather diving? Here is a short clip from a recent Kiss Sidewinder rebreather upgrade course in Croatia. Our student Gregor became a Sidewinder diver last year and chose to train with Yvonne to expand his underwater range.

What does an upgrade include? You learn to plan bailout gas for mandatory decompression dives. We add additional bailout cylinders - not so much because they are necessary for this level of diving but because they show you the potential journey ahead.
Most importantly, though, we practice ascents requiring decompression stops. On a mechanical rebreather like the Sidewinder, divers need to take charge of managing the amount or concentration of oxygen they're breathing more than on an electronic rebreather. But that also means you get to control when gas is injected.
For this course, we met in Croatia at Diving Center Kostrena near Rijeka which had just about the perfect house reef for our requirements. Flat training areas, a wall that's home to massive lobsters, and a small wreck, too.
