@@savethebs5751 TBH, as a 6 y.o. kid, I wasn’t sure if they were human, aliens, or robots. True story! Lol I forgot all about that. Also in 3rd grade there was a debate amongst the kids whether or not Ace was a woman, because some kid’s big brother had it on good authority that he was! Ackkkk! Hahaha. Ironically when I first saw the live Lick it Up unveiling, At first glance I really thought Vinnie WAS a girl. (I guess I wasn’t too far off). Back to Ace, I even brought it up to my folks. They had seen their 60 Minutes or 20/20 interview and assured me they were all men. Anyway, what I mean to say is that from Gene & Paul’s books and sometimes statements, they come across as really self-absorbed and often humorless jerks. Gene especially gets a lot of guff for his money-chasing ways. And they infamously badmouth all the other band members and each other. So it’s good to see them relaxed, giving and taking ribbing from each other. Makes them appear to be much more “normal”.
It was nice to hear the unsolicited appreciation by Gene & Paul to Ace & Peter for all they did in the beginning and for Tommy & Eric for all they’ve done to keep the band going. I’m 100% a fan for the original four but I’m glad ‘my band’ has lived on for decades so new fans get a bit of the magic that I was blessed to have growing up.
Barry didn’t do the chopper photos that was Fin Costello. Sometimes us fans know more accurate info than the band lmao And Paul claims he wasn’t high back then lol Edit The picture Backstage at Nassau Coliseum NYE Gene mentions the late Linda Lovelace of course but kinda disappointed that there’s no nod to Larry Harris who worked his ass off for kiss and handed them those awards and is in the picture w them that night and of course The amazing Bill Aucoin ,arguably the 5th kiss ,him and Sean ,which is not an understatement to say Kiss may have not made it without them . May they all Rest In Peace .
