No, it is not OK. The jet pressure can force pathogenic bacteria down gum pockets into the blood stream, and it can also damage your gums where they are trying to heal and regrow.
Go into health food stores. If they don't have Zellies, they should have something called ICE CHIPS or gum with xylitol with 1st ingredient If you can't find it, at least trident gum has it for 3rd ingredient
