This group came to our house and played for us under the shade of a large mango tree. As you can see they are playing on drums that look beaten and battered, but sound great. The djembefola is a young griot, named Petit Laya Kouyate.
This young master will definitely reach Grandmaster status before 18. He is with a natural gift that has been provided only through the ancestors of the master drummers. He is going to be a tremendous ambassador and as he ages his power is going to be awesome to enjoy because his technique is so fluid and quick at such an early age. He is history in the making and will be sought for seminars and international travels.
Djembefola master in the making. You can tell he started at a very young age. I'm guessing he started as a toddler or a couple years old. I started when I was 10 going on 11 years of age in June 3rd of 1984 and seeing him in this video has me amazed beyond words.
@@ttswan I believe that very much. He could have been a djembefola master in a past life and reborn in this life to continue his djembefola legacy and lineage.
