This was really awesome. You really bring back the 80's from my childhood in a great way. It also reminded me of the Predator movie from back then. Awesome work, I look forward to seeing more of your stuff.
I like these a ton dude. The somewhat goofy aesthetic of over confident marines who dont use armor, wacky patterns, and of course, the beaky. Looks like modern spins on older metals
Loved the vid btw wanted to drop in some possible chapter names: Predators: Due to the action movie sorta inspirations thought a nod to the predator film would be nice, additionally their whole tracking, hunting, and predator vibes also work Klaw Strike: the tactic-cool vibe these marines have i think something akin to Klaw Strike, or a strike force sort of name for them would make a lot of sense. Additionally, the spelling using a K instead of C could imply they often face Orcs, just a idea. Hydra: Just sounds really cool for a death-world chapter, also would imply either a connection to salamanders or maybe even the raptors. Anyways those are just a few suggestions, keep up the good work!
You should really experiment with some of the other sculpting tools. Crease and pinch would have helped you out a lot with some of the things I was watching you do.
The kitbash is great and easily replicatable, the idea inspired, and the result awesome. But...well. Most Space Marines kinda DO come from Death Worlds. Or at least, they recruit actively from one. Death Worlds produce the best soldiers and Marine aspirants, thats just a given. Its the reason places like Blackwater and Caldaris exist still.
I've been wanting to kitbash my own Nurgle-corrupted Blood Angels from the Dornian Hetesy AU I'm thinking of using a combination of bits and pieces from Chaos Space Marines, Horus Heresy Space Marines, Plague Marines, AoS undead model range, and of course, Blood Angel bits from either 40k or Horus Heresy
You should! It's a great software to learn the ropes on, and has a high skill ceiling if you want to continue with it into more advanced avenues of modelling like texturing, animation, and/or lighting.
