Huge thanks for this fix-saved me money and time. I have a slightly different model and actually found 2 light units were creating issues-replacing the freezer light fixed one set of lights and another light on top fixed the rest. Trial and error to find the problem one. For others experiencing this issue, if replacing the freezer light doesn't fix the issue, try others until you pinpoint it. Also, check the connector on your lights before buying a replacement-I bought the light referenced in the video but actually needed a model with a different connector.
This worked for me. Same situation. The lights at the top and in the freezer went out. I replaced the lower freezer light only and everything worked again. Thanks! You do not need to remove the front door or anything. You can replace the led by pulling the top shelf in the freezer forward to give you enough room to access it. (I'm not an expert though, I'm not liable for any issues!)
Thanks for video, it helped get thru this LED light outage. It was the freezer one that was bad, the whole process with the help of your video took me all of 10 mins. This saved me at least $300 on a service call and parts. Thanks again!

I cannot seem to pry that thing out of there!!! It comes out around1/4 inch buy I can't budge it beyond that. I've already chipped the bezel. What am I doing wrong???
OK, here's what finally worked! I took a flat, wide, plastic stovetop scraper and used that to push against the clips on the long sides of the LED bracket. Seems like you need to get pressure against the entire length of the inside clips to get them to release. The right tool for the right job I guess!
Hi, my side light doesn't work, the four bulbs on the sides don't work. All other lights work. What could be the matter? I checked all the light bulbs with a multimeter, they were all working, rearranged them among themselves in the ceiling and there is light in the freezer, namely the four light bulbs on the sides do not work. What could be the problem? Changing the control board did not help.

So my four top (fresh food part of my refrigerator) lights are out as well as my freezer light (that you showed replacing in this video) in our KRMF706ESS. Are the five LED lights the same? I assume they are all in series? Should I start replacing the freezer light first?
Same issue here. The side lights and undershelf lights work but the freezer light and top lights have a very dim dot in the center. Replacing the freezer light did not solve for me either. Any suggestions @onlineappliancetech ?

Thank you for the information, I have the same problem with my refrigerator as well. I switched each light out and still didn't fix the issue. Is there a circuit board or power supply I will need to replace? The drawer light still comes on nothing else.
@Online Appliance Tech I will look into that tech. Is there a part number for that power supply that I could swap out? I'm sure it's a few hundred bucks, but it's cheaper than a new fridge.
Here is the part for your unit. The power that supplies the led lights comes from Display Control Board, however I see by checking different suppliers that it also comes with the main MPC. Part number is W10861900. I would recommend calling Whirlpool to have them to verify due to part being a couple hundred. Also could be a bad door switch. I do not guarantee this but just trying to help! Best of luck
Our freezer light went out first and then two in the top of the fridge. However, when I was cleaning today and left the doors open, the lights came back on!! When I closed the door and reopened they were out again. What gives?
In my fridge, model # KRFF507HWH00 (similar to above) some lights went out for the third time in just a few years, replaced under warranty and arrangement with KitchenAid Customer Service for free. They know about this lights problem, but they desperately trying to avoid pay for the service. No more Kitchenaid, junk made in ......!
Aghhh no lights are working in the fridge, freezer or the little door on the left side where you’d keep fresh meats etc… I don’t know if this would fix my issue
This easy fix worked for me the first time, but after about a year, it went out again. The second time this fix didnt work. Oh well, I'm done screwing with it.
@@onlineappliancetech that is very helpful. Funny thing, some of the lights inside the refrigerator, those in the bottom drawer, still work. It is the other lights throughout the inside of the refrigerator that have stopped working. I am hoping that changing the one in the freezer below as you describe will fix the problem. The light in the lower freezer compartment is not working. It is very kind of you to help me work through this problem.
