This is my honest review and demo of the Kitchen aid temperature controlled kettle MK2. Did a review on the original model of this but after 5 years this kettle is no longer functioning properly which I show in the video. These are great kettles, however Kitchenaid have the annoying habit of making their products beep for no reason. Anyway, any questions just ask!

UPDATE PLEASE READ! DO NOT buy this kettle! after 3 months we are having the same issue with the lid and it is also not turning on intermittently! very frustrating! it seems that tye design has got worse not better please avoid and safe your self any problems

The beeping is something I want. I don’t stand next to the kettle waiting to boil and would probably be in a different room. With most kettles you don’t know they’ve boiled unless you are there. More kettles need beeps when they are done. 😁 Agree no need to beep when lifting of stand. Great review. Was going for the sage smart but this looks better with the same functionality 👍🏽. Don’t get a sage if you don’t’ think like beeps.

Does the control keep water at desired temp. Or does it drop lower?

Hi Mark, our Kitchenaid kettle lid broke off yesterday, after only 4 years. The top of the handle is attached with three screws through the kettle into the lid hinge. We had the same problem with the lid opener after 3 years. Yes, I like the beeps as I am usually doing something else when waiting on the water boiling. I will probably order the same KitchenAid Empire Red kettle online but this time I will take out the 5 year guarantee extension.

Hi mate, funny you have just sent this as literally this week our new kettle is already leaking steam out the side! Not good only after a few months of use! We have messaged kitchen aid to see what they can do. Yeah, it seems to be a mixed bag sone people like the beep some people don't. I get up early so try to be as quite as possible and this just sounds horrible at 6 in the morning lol! Cheers for your comment ☺️

Hi Sascha, thanks for the info. Unfortunately we live in Switzerland and as far as I know, no recall here. My 2 year guarantee has expired so I have ordered a new one online today but this time with the 5 year extension guarantee.

Hi again Sasha, I have decided to take your advice and have sent an E-Mail to KitchenAid / Whirlpool including photos from the broken kettle. The new one arrived this morning (I’m in Home Office) but I will leave it packed up ready to return depending on the answer I get from KitchenAid. I found the re-call in internet. It was from 2018. They included a list of serial numbers which could be defect but my one is not on the list. I will let you all know what they say when I get the reply.

I just replaced my V1 with the V2 but I kept the V1 base as I think it looks nicer and seems to be better quality.

I don't have the kettle any more as it stopped working and the kid also started leaking hot steam so I can't recommend long term I bought a replacement and did a review on that much cheaper 👍

Hi, to be honest if you don't need this style then I would go for another brand as like you mention it isn't super high quality and costs a lot. The only reason we got it was due to it not being silver,black or just see through glass as we don't like the look of those for our kitchen. If you can get something else that has similar functions go for another brand. Hope that helps you

So I also have the new version and the problem with the lid is the same. Needs reel force on the button to open because of limescale. Ideas for cleaning or fixing it?

Hi, no sorry I don't have a fix, unfortunately since filming this the lid on my new one has stopped working and also it intermittently stops working! Very frustrating I need to contact the manufacturer now as it's still under warranty

Mine is brand new from January of this year. I start to also have an issue with the lid and I also have an issue with the temperature display off the base that don’t work (I did put charging battery), it only shows the temperature that was set on the base and the battery level. I’m calling kitchenaid soon.

About the beeping, just open the bottom and put some glue or silicone over the little speaker! The beeping will now be muffled and quiet. I’ve done that to some of the kids toys...

U should pure vinegar inside kettle and water put on temperature and to finished than wash it slowly if u do 2 times a months not be like ur old kettle 😊 enjoy i have same from urs Most kettles comes without beep sound witch is that wrong it is good to hear beep to know it have finished. I agree. I have found creamy colour soo hard. They have only one in all kitchenaid store even online from Amazon are hard cz of watts not match to my country. And creamy colour i wanted cz of my kitchenAid stand mixer is creamy my question is “Did u find creamy colour easy”????

We liked the product but the lid has been problematic almost from day one. We got a replacement from the store but the lid is completely broken off the plastic holder less than 2 years.

This is not a durable product: My daughter bought one and after just two years the temperature sensor no longer detects the right temperature. When water boils the temperature only reads about 70°C and the kettle will keep attempting to heat the water more and never switches off as the sensor never reaches 100°C. I can not recommend buying this product, it is expensive but the quality do not match the price.
