In the process of remodeling my kitchen and am definitely using the elongated tile in the herringbone design. Tile is matte black with gray grout. Stunning.

I wish you were here to help me with all your amazing ideas and eye for style and design! We are planning on quartz counters and running it up to the bottom of the wall cabinets for backsplash . I feel a bit worried I’ll get bored with it but we think it will look nice and be easier to keep clean. Trying to avoid grout lines in our future. This wallpaper idea excites me because it’s seems like much less of a commitment than expensive quartz. I’ve also seen powder coated pressed tin panels and wonder what you think of those ?

I liked the herringbone backsplash the best, however, that could be because of the entire kitchen look and color combinations. I like the wood accent in the island and how that color was picked up in the blinds. Also the uppers and range hood had an interesting design as well.

Hi, thanks for the video. Can you share some ideas for cream cabinets too? I have a grey quartz (aplina white silestone) counter top with it, and struggling to find an interesting match for the tile. Thanks!

Hi J, thanks for watching. It's tough trying to recommend something without knowing all the selections. You could totally add a pop of color! We just finished a project where we had a wood and white cabinet combo and used emerald blue backsplash tile. It's stunning! What are some quality brands of laminate? I like the look of countertop as a backsplash but not the cost.

Hi and thanks for watching!! Typically Wilsonart is used for laminate countertops. There are lesser installers at this point to finding shops actually installing laminate as hard surfaces like quartz have become more affordable with square foot programs. I would ask your local fabricators if they can recommend a laminate installer. I hope this helps!!

Fantastic backsplashes! Do you think people's tastes in backsplashes have changed much in the last 10 years?

Yes they sure have!! I think HGTV and shows like Fixer Upper have really paved the way for lots of Farmhouse styled kitchens. So we've seen tons of people wanting subway tile backsplashes. Some of my clients though want something different but don't know the names of other styles and don't know how to search for them on Pinterest. I'll be doing more videos to explain different design styles.

I love the gloss and depth of back painted glass as a backsplash. And if it was held up by just silicone or some clips, the glass could be taken down stripped and painted some other color or even artwork. Jackson Pollack in a kitchen would never show dirt. Should the glass used for this be tempered or just plain glass ?

I love that look. I think it's even nicer when it's a center piece lets say around a centered range section and the rest of the Perimeter is tile backsplash. Thanks for watching!!

Hi!@@sabajess9083 You could do a gray, or do a white that has off colors. I don't think I would go straight bone or alabaster white. Those veins are typically more of a gray undertone. Maybe something like Cloe by Bedrosians?
