Just refill the Mrs Myers bottle with the Dawn and it will look nice on the counter. I’ve been refilling my bottle on the counter for two years now. No more ugly dish soap bottle 🙂 on the sink
It makes my heart happy seeing you able to spend some money on your home recently. You have done such a great job being frugal for your family through the years. Seeing you so excited for the simple things like baskets under your sink makes me smile!
Hey just wanted to give you a fire safety tip! You shouldn’t keep your fire extinguisher in the kitchen due to the fact that if a fire starts in the kitchen it can be harder to get to the extinguisher if not impossible. It’s better to keep it like in a laundry room or something. Gotta love being a firefighters daughter! 😂
I love organizing so much, it looks great! You mentioned wanting to buy another bin for your dishwasher salts but I would actually switch them - put your sponges in the black basket and pour the salt in the bin. That way both bins are for your dishwasher! You can buy a hanging basket the lips over the door which would be perfect for your gloves and sponge!
Suggestion: turn your glove box on its edge with the dispensing hole facing the outside of the cabinet. You could probably fit your spare box behind it and free up half that shelf! Plus you can just lean down and grab a set of gloves 😊
Christine: Love how often you are posting. You are my pick me up. Don’t stress about your hair loss, definitely not worth giving up soda to protect! Unbury the coke! Besides, I have enough chin hair for both of us to transplant to our scalps so it’s all good!😂. Hormones and getting older are a blast!
I have those white baskets and could not for the life of me figure out why the handles do that- until today! 🥴 Once again, Christine educates and entertains 👏🏼
I'm so glad you're redoing your kitchen and organizing! We bought our first house and I got an amazing kitchen but I don't even know how to organize it or use all the cabinets. You always make my day and seeing your joy at the new sink in the last video was wonderful ☺️
Christine I also needed new kitchen rags then i did this. In a bucket put 1 CUP vinegar and 1 cup baking soda throw your rags in and cover with really hot water. Let sit over night. Next day throw all in the washer with detergent and bleach on hot water cycle. This really rewhitened my rags and let me put off buying new for awhile.
Christine, Your hair is beautiful. I really like the cut. Secondly, I agree with you on the dollar tree organization items, It's great that everything is a dollar however, they do not last and you can never find enough that match to truly organize a space. I do not like going into Wal-mart but I will check out what is online. I think you did a great job organizing under your sink. The important thing to remember when organizing is that it has to work for you and your family or it is a waste of time and money. Thank you for all the great ideas!
Yes!! I was wanting to recycle more but didn't want to walk out to the garage 639462 times a day. I put a trash can labeled "recycling" right next to our trash can in the pantry and bam! new habit acquired. 😁
I would just switch the stacked bins (sponges and dishwasher pods) with the basket to the left of it so you can grab the fire extinguisher more easily. I would rather you have something short next to it I'm case you're fumbling in an emergency, will just make grabbing it smoother :)
Christine, just leave 2 or 3 extra sponges in kitchen and store the rest down in your storage room on a shelf....under cupboard space is prime real estate do you need a years worth upstairs at the moment
The pictures you see on Pinterest are to show how pretty something can be and tend to lean towards a particular organizing type. But what's most important is that you know how you use items and make the things used most often easily accessible. For example, I foresee that the lid will not be put back on the dishwashing tabs because who wants to have to take the container out, take off the lid, grab the tab, put the lid back on and then put the container back when if you have no lid, you just reach down and grab the tab. I do agree with you about not getting everything at Dollar Tree. They do have some good items, some are very flimsy or may not be the right size for what you want to use it for.
i don't typically comment on videos but i love your personality!! your videos are the most resourceful and helpful for where i'm at in my life. keep being you and making videos for us! thank you ❤️
Anyone else here: she's a natural, I could never do that Christine: who doesn't narrate their every move?? Anyone else here: yep, I could never do that, can you? not me, me neither Christine (just keeps narrating her every move and comments about scissors, zip ties, batteries, multiuse cabinet shelves, etc.
FYI - we have our kitchen fire extinguisher hanging in the laundry room (about 6 feet away from the stove). I wondered what those white shelves looked like - Thanks! I might be purchasing those soon. Looking good.
It looks Great! Your stacking shelves are perfect. Vertical space is one of the most under used areas. It’s awesome you were able to use it. The whole area looks good & the most important thing is that it works for you.
I remember watching this and being so proud and excited for you when you originally posted it - and decided to rewatch today and smiled in just the same places. inspiring and wonderful as always - it's like getting a video from some friends and family who live far away. Thanks SO much for your videos :)
"I think it's time to take the stick out" reminded me of something completely different. LOL. Your re-organization looks pretty good. We had a leak under our sink a couple weeks ago so I had to remove everything. UGH. I, too, found things I hadn't seen in years. More than two years. I feel so ashamed.
Oh yes the fun of organizing around pipes and garbage disposals. I ended up using stackable storage from Amazon. I like those stackable shelves you got from Haedes . Never thought to look there.
I really enjoy the way you talk to us and yourself as you work, laughter is so good for us. both for body and mind. I hope your under sink area works well when you are standing up and reaching under for things. Sometimes, I have to try a few different ways to see what works.
Christine you have the best personality, I love watching your videos. Its so cute how your family peaks in to see what your doing.... keep doing what you're doing 😊
I didn't even know my under sink needed to be organized until I saw this. Went immediately to Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby and got organized this morning. No more "living like a caveman!"
Thank you so much for all the inspiration. We just picked out our new appliances, and had the contractor come out to measure up for a kitchen renovation without new cabinets. I never really thought of going that route until I saw yours, but now we’re moving forward! So excited, keeping our perfectly decent cabinets was the perfect solution. Thanks again.
I adore those white stackable baskets. I put individually wrapped things in them in my freezer. I plan toget a chest freezer and feel they will make it easier to manage as well. I also plan to get cabinets to go abo e it, and they will help there too. I love the versatility.
Of all the places I’ve dreaded organizing the most, it was under my bathroom sink. I freshened you the under the kitchen sink space last weekend when we out in our new single basin. Since the pandemic, I have done just about everyday drawer and closet we have! FINALLY did my bathroom a few days ago and I got so much trash out of there that we didn’t need! It looks SOOOOO much better!! Under kitchen and bath sink, I LOVE using those baskets that hang on inside of the door!
Zip ties, hahaha. That brought me way back to when my girls were little (they are now 25 and 20). Those Barbie dolls were the worst!! They had what felt like a zillion, and just when you thought you were done and tried to lift the doll out of the packaging, NOPE!! You discovered that there was one or two that you somehow missed 😂. It took a good 20 minutes just to undo them all. And, for the clip for the gloves, I have a couple under each sink, they are the command hook clothespin like clips, they work great! Also, consider putting those yellow sponges in the black basket, and put the salt in the clear container :). Sorry if someone else posted that idea, but I can’t read through 200 comments lol. It looks great!
This was awesome! I am absolutely guilty of throwing stuff under my kitchen sink that I don't want to deal with (extra vases, nut butter jars that need extra time to soak, storage for potatoes??) so this was a lot of fun to watch. I may also feel a little inspired to deal with that area now that I've gotten envious of your baskets. Cheers!
Awesome, let's do the pantry! I have way to many products under my sink,( limited space in kitchen) so it's all stuffed in 3 bins. Yup need to work on that. My other fav RU-vidr cleaned her oven today, yup, need to do that too. . Thanks Christine for taking us along ,💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Thank you for sharing. Totally just discovered my recycling can fits under my sink, it is so being relocated!! And I realize, I have way more under the sink than I need!!
You could suction the new sponge caddy on your backsplash right above the sink if you want to christine! Thanks for the video, love your new kitchen so far, would love an updated cupboard/pantry tour as well 🤗💕
Glue a wooden clothes peg (or 2) onto the inside of your cupboard door. It will hold your gloves perfectly. If you are worried about water damage to the inside of the door, attach a suitably sized piece of vinyl contact where the gloves will hang. Easy to wipe clean, and protects the wood. :: Love the new toaster - the colour is so cute.
Oh, just one more thing...I love organizing... You can get a command hook for the cabinet door and use a gator/binder clip to hang your everyday gloves.
I love the kids peeking around...is mom talk to the garbage disposal again?!?!? LOLOLOLOL Also a chip clip ...you can use it to clip the gloves on the metal shelf. 😁
I did the exact same thing with my suction thingy for my sponges.... stone sink + suction cups = no go I use command strips and a binder clip for my gloves and hang them from the door. I also mounted a motion sensored light from under the sink in the cabinet... it runs on c batteries.... super nice as my lighting sucks and I can’t see inside my cabinet!!
I LOVE your cleaning videos Christine! Definitely motivates me to organize my apartment. I wish I could email you a before & after of my bathroom under the sink transformation. I took photos. Those plastic baskets are freaking amazing. 🙌
I love it all I like that you ended up going with the same colors because that definitely makes it look extra neat and I was so excited to see your new kitchen in play 💜
This has me inspired to go sort out my messy under-the-sink situation! I was glad to see that you reconsidered the original spot where you'd placed the cleaning rags. The place at the top of the little shelves was totally fine when you were sitting down on the floor, but probably could have been annoying when standing at the sink and bending over to grab a rag! When organizing a space like this, I always like to "test-drive" it and try to grab the things I use most frequently, from the position that I am normally in when I approach the space. Then I can figure out if I have to reach at an awkward angle to get something I use all the time, or if I'm constantly going to knock something else over, etc.
Hi Christine! Love your channel! Just a thought . . . If something on your stove caught fire, moving towards your sink which is kind of enclosed is not the direction you want to go to get a fire extinguisher. Maybe on the other side of the island/counter if you have a cupboard down there or on the other side of the refrigerator.
Thank you for showing your process of organizing your cabinet. I’ve been wanting to get the things under my sink organized like our old house, but didn’t want to build a shelf and I was having trouble figuring out how to approach it. You have given me the ideas I needed to get it done by the end of this month. You rock!!! It’s one of the many reasons I watch you, though I don’t normally comment. Thank you for putting out the content you do. Love how you keep it real.
Christine, I'd like to suggest that you move the fire extinguisher. It should not be right next to where you may have a fire (stove, dishwasher, etc.) to that you have to reach close to or through flames to get to it. It should be located near ingress/egress so that if you happen upon a fire while entering a room there is easy access. (you don't have to get closer to danger to get it) Also, so that as you use it, you have the ability to back your way out a door. Might I suggest placing it just inside your door that leads to the garage or just inside your pantry. Or you could even mount it to the cabinet next to where you (I think) keep your garbage can. Just a thought.
You did great! You're so entertaining. When you put the blue bin on the top shelf, I was like, "No!" And you replaced it with the black one. Thanks. Lol.
Christine, I put my kitchen gloves on a command hook. I clip the gloves with a binder clip and the gloves slide right onto the command hook. You can also do it for oven mitts. Just an FYI...I have a small kitchen and am always looking for ways to save space.
We have a cupboard, the very top one and it has no shelves so we used 3 of those stackable shelves from walmart. They fit perfectly in there! Thanks for sharing, looks great!
Christine, for under the sink it is way better to get the basket stand thing that pulls out so you can reach the stuff from the way back easier. For your everyday gloves - get a chip clip and some of those Velcro dots (they have a sticky side. Stick a dot on the inside of the door and a dot on the clip - velcro the clip to the door and clip your gloves on/off as needed :)
I’ve been in your fridge and cabinets more than I’ve been in my own. I really want to organize now! I like the Walmart Oxo things better, the Oxo brand never seals quite right for me. You could slide the oven cleaner stuff behind your garb. bags. Looks great!
When everything shut down this spring I did under the sink organizing as well. I've never felt more like an adult than when I was done and everything looked all nice and organized on the shelves and bins LOL
Dang girl..now you make me want to redo under my sink. I am pretty organized but I think I can do better. Thanks for the great video as usual. You always make me smile.
I appreciate all your videos ☺️ so relatable and helpful. You have helped me be more comfortable cooking for my family! Also helped me become more frugal and save money 💰
You just gave me an idea. I need a light under the sink. I did get a roll out metal drawn off Amazon that I do like. Great video 🥰 put ur glove box on the side facing you for easy access.
You can also get a shower rod, put paper towel rolls on stretch pole under sink cabinet. I can fit 3 rolls on. Keeps them dry, easily accessible and out of sight
