This was such a beautiful scene in the book..so powerful...Hassan at the tender age of 12 understood his friends insecurities , guilt and yet choose to be compassionate instead of hate and resentment ❣
Amir did this not because he hated Hassan.. It's because he felt guilty about not helping Hassan and wanted to provoke him into fighting and hurting Amir.
When reading this scene, and seeing it from the movie, I think Hassan knew about what happened with Amir in the alley. But instead of expressing his pain to Amir in a negative way, the smudged pomegranate on his face is a symbol as in - “I understand, Amir.” Hassan is too good for this world❤️❤️
Friendship doesn't exist, what you can achieve is colleges. Here we see one child that still believes and one that has just started to understand/ act likely the cruel world around him.
