Thank you! The cats are now crawling all over it until they nap on it. Please share this video with cat folks. I want people to know how easy it is to build.
That turned out awesome! Not only is it functional as something the kitties love but it is a very beautiful decorative fixture in your house. BTW, your kitties are so cute!!! It's always great to have a pair so they can play together and keep each other company. I was wondering if the rope could just be fastened periodically with small nails or staples. That would make it easier to initially install and then replace should it become worn over time. That was a very challenging project since you had to think about balancing everything. Great job and tips on how to make the platform patterns, etc.!!!
It has been so satisfying to have it turn out well and have the kittens take it over as their own. Instead of looking like couch potatoes, they look like regal jungle cats. You are always so complimentary; you must have been an elementary school teacher. I taught middle school for 40 years myself. Take care; the monsoons and cool Fall weather will soon come to Arizona.
@@gfotinakes316 Cats love to be up high so I'm sure they're loving their "perches" to oversee all that's going on! We're in the midst of monsoon season now with the hurricane force winds that tear off roofs, all the lightning strikes and floods that come with the rain. Our desert soil doesn't absorb the water so dry river beds become raging torrents. Never a dull moment! That's what brings us rain though so it's a double edged sword. I'm a retired officer from the Sheriff's Office.....over 26 years and then worked for Rockler Woodworking and Hardware 10 years. I have great admiration for you teaching 40 years. That's AMAZING!!!
Cats love Hight . I have a cat tree, Tow actually,, but carpeting, does not last all that long, nor the rap around rope. They do like the cozy comfort of feeling hidden. I do notice after having several cat trees, as they make their way up and one other one chooses to skip the steps and just leap up, the tree become instantly top heavy, ready to fall over. just a thought, not sure to make the bottom heavier. One other thing, does not take long for carpet to look nasty, lots of shed cat fur. Wonder if slip on coves that are washable, to look nice around holidays and visitors come over.
I think my 30+ pound boulder kept it from tipping, but that one screw made it solid, even when they jump up at top speeds. Thanks for the Christmas decor ideas, I am sure my wife will want to decorate it in some way.
