The cat could've been on top of something and jumped onto the barrel not knowing it was open. The camera footage could well be cropped down from a much larger image. However as is all too common - the rescuer decides to start recording first, and roughly tip the barrel one-handed. That recording first is effectively rewarded online & considered a priority over the animals welfare, is far from ideal.

I slowed the speed down in the settings and yeah, it seems suspicious. Like how is the cat hovering before it jumps in? It has to have something under to push off of. If the cat was exploring why wouldn't it have crawled up the cones (cones that seem conveniently placed to perhaps hide something)? The camera is positioned right on it...what kind of yard surveillance does that provide? Making sure no one steals your trash/rain water barrel? Strange. Unfortunately, there are ppl out there who put pets in precarious situations so they can "rescue" them for views and likes. This just seems very suspicious. I'd like to check out his pages/channels to see if this is a regular thing. I don't watch those rescued animal videos because it encourages hurting animals for views. I hope Dodo is on the lookout for them.

All of our kitties are rescues including our latest that the neighbors moved & left behind. Our neighborhood is a magnet for people who want to dump their cats (idk why) but I & my neighbor keep taking them in. At one time we had 6. I would like to encourage everyone to spay & neuter their pets so we can cut down on needless dumpings & deaths. We humans domesticated these animals so now it's our obligation to take care of them.
