I love how fuzzy a kitten's fur is, the hairs just standing out everywhere. Adult cats have much smoother, flatter fur. The fuzziness of a kitten's fur makes them look much softer and cuter

If you have a car, get her used to being in the car and happy things going on in the car and when the destination is reached. Since I have never had a car, my cats are only in one when we take cabs to and from the vet so just the car ride is traumatic. Each cat responds differently to experiences so hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

Awww I had to take my 8 week old kitten to the vet for his first shots and deworming and he SCREAMED bloody murder just from the deworming pill! Poor guy! He’s chilling rite now! :) marm and cole are so cute!!

animal's instincts are spot-on. Only go to the vet if your pet is seriously ill or injured! Most of my pets were killed by vets (literally vaccinated to death) before I knew any better.

Btw the reminder for "annual" visits is no joke! I took my little man in last summer as he wasn't acting right, he had an xray and everything showed all clear. I took him in again this summer and the poor boy had tumors that were taking up almost his entire abdomen...vet diagnosed him with very severe and aggressive form of gastrointestinal lymphoma. It was too late to treat :*( of course but had I not been taking him in yearly and watching his behavior closely he could have suffered for so much longer before I realized anything was wrong.

Stu VS Aw thank you. :( I was extremely lucky to have him, he was such a laid back chill little dude, and was truly my therapy animal. He was only 6 and his unexpected death has hit me harder than I ever thought it would. It sucks to love a critter so much. :D

+AwsumSaus I know. My beloved Cindy got stomach cancer in her 19th year. There was no amount of money that would fix it. She was taken in for yearly visits, got all her shots. She got better care than most humans. She had good vets. But she was too old for surgery or chemo. The vet got us some stuff to make her feel better, she did ok for a while. We loved her up. She let us know when it was time. She went to sleep in my arms. Where she always was safe. Twenty years isn't nearly long enough when you love someone.

Sandra Nelson Lol I needed my cat to live until I died, then we could have gone together... Sometimes I wonder if it would have been better to be able to keep him for a few more months or to let him go when I did, but his colon was backed up and during the 4 days he was home in between the first xray and the actual surgery no matter how many different laxatives I gave him he just couldn't pass anything. However had he been able to poop, I would have been a crying mess those few months (I was those 4 days) so it was probably best he went when he did. I just wish I could have held him, but with it being surgery and all. :(

I remember when we first took our seven month old ex-stray kitten to the vet he loved every single minute, including vaccines and thermometer. People were paying attention to him! Bliss and happiness! It didn't last though, his second vet visit he was castrated and his third vet visit he was covered in motor oil and spent the afternoon in baths. After those two occasions he always treated vets with more suspicion and prejudice.
