Loreta Frankonyte, JoAnn Wiltz, Katie McKittrick and I were invited to an event by Kitty Bungalow where we got to meet Lil BUB on her 8th Birthday, her owner Mike, Jackson Galaxy, and Hannah Shaw (Kitten Lady).
During the event, we got a phone call, so Loreta and I left the event. Luckily, the rescue location was just 20 minutes away.
We found the dead mom on the road right away (she was hit by a car) and we had to focus on saving the babies. Neighbors were recruited as #HopeForPaws volunteers, and together we saved BUB, Mike, Galaxy, and Hannah.

Yeah, it always breaks my heart seeing animals struggling so hard during their rescue. I can't even imagine how terrified they must be when the big hand grabs them. I'm always kinda scared that the poor baby will have a panic attack and die of shock. Thankfully, hope for paws is there to help them, even if they don't realize it at first.

@@sledge2105 Because other humans have let them down. We do this enough to our own species, yet when we show kindness to another we created (albeit ages and ages ago) it seems less humane - in my eyes it is more. That being said, I try and help any who need - human or otherwise. Seems like humans have a lot more help than animals - just look at criminal punishments. A judge is likely to laugh off animal cruelty (hopefully that is my own negativity to how we treat them rather than a reflection of reality, but it is what I see) and punish human cruelty - which is as it should be for humans, but not for animals. WE domesticated them, we have a responsibility.

In the Jewish tradition, rather than giving children middle names, parents will take the first letter of the name of a relative who died, and give the child a first name that begins with that letter, in memory of that relative.

The first cat that I ever had as my own personal pet lived in a greenhouse and walked among potted geraniums. The greenhouse man said if you can catch her you can have her. My parents gave me permission to keep her.

I also got my first ever cat in a similar way. She was a stray which I tamed down over many days before she let me put her in a cat carrier. Then I took her home and she’s truly the most loving, sweetest podgy cat ever.

But the yard probably kept the kittens safe -- sheltered from hawks or owls, and too crowded for larger animals like raccoons to get in and attack the kittens. That's probably why the mama chose that yard.

and what's sad is some people will go out of there way to hit them I used to work for a delivery company and the driver I was with would go out of his way to hit anything that went in the road squirrels are bad enough but one day he did it to a cat so I went half the day steaming about it eventually when lunch came we got out of the truck I told him he was a dick and made him swallow 3 teeth needless to say I lost a job and spent time in jail but it was worth everyday of being in there I tell ya what

@@christinetheresa7416 it really depends on how long they've lived there, whether or not part of it is the neighbours' stuff, etc. If someone were hunting for junk on a regular basis, it would be far more packed than that. This doesn't look as much like a hoarder as just someone who put things aside to deal with later, and later never came.

Totally agree. A common theme on this channel is homeowners with decades of trash accumulated on their properties. If they would clean up there would be less places for animals to hide.

Maybe they just rent. I rent a small house with weeds and branches so choked and overgrown, that I haven't been able to get into my back yard for a year. So... maybe it's not their fault. Who knows why they haven't straightened it out. The city probably doesn't know because it's not seen from the street. One wheelbarrow looked like it had been there for decades... and that spider! Ack!
