It's called "primordial pouch" it is evolutionary defense mechanism of loose skin around cat's most vulnerable internal organs to prevent predators clawing or biting open their belly. Some cats have it more than others, it has nothing to do with them being fat or fit.

I don’t know how he got so big? He eats the same food as my other 2 boys and he doesn’t beg like my little Siamese. Last time I weighed him he was over 22 lbs. He’s my best friend and the sweetest cat I’ve ever known. Thanks!
@@Anguskitty2 Begging is where they differ, Junior could be a competitive eating champion. But he is also a big sweetheart. The Vet has trouble hearing his heartbeat because his purr is so loud.

angus looks just like my big boy, mr. lemon, who is currently sulking because i wont let him explore the hallways of my apartment building while i'm so sick i can barely stand 😌 he is such a goofball, love to see your little guy be so happy while mine ignores me haha
Now those are 2 healthy looking felines. Best kind of life for cats; plenty to eat and can go outside. I've 3 cats and they all are inside/outside. They drive me crazy since none of our doors are automatic like a grocery store. But they're well worth the aggravation of getting up 20-30 times a day, plus it gives me exercise. 😻🤣😍
Mine does this in the morning it relaxes me...i love the sound of his purring i intend to record him and keep it to listen to it when i am in a stressful situation.
