Thank you for doing this video! I am so relieved about the AI content. Kittl is being very generous, and I think it will engender lifetime loyalty as a result!
@Kittldesign I do wish that the AI image upscaler and background remover would allow you to edit the final image. Giving you the ability to keep,edit/erase certain areas of the image as the original upload.. pls let me know if this makes sense
Videos like this confirm that tools like Kittl are not just incredible but they worried about their clients. This channel gives so much and so valuable information about its tool that makes the work and understanding of it, from the smallest to the more complex tasks. Well I don't find any complex task in Kittl, everything works smoothly and if there is any problem always we have the chat in the app that works really well and of course this channel that is a gold mine of information. Thanks Drew for explain the Kittl Licensing, always to read this kind of information is a bit confused and boring, to create a video for read and explain it is one thing that other tools should do, meanwhile I'm more than happy to have chosen your tool to make my journey in the print on demand business something a funny and cool experience.😁😆🙃😉😀
HEADS UP!!!! Kittl has reduced expert plan credits from 100 a month to 80 a month even though some of us already paid for them upfront with the yearly subscription.
Hey there. Thank you for the feedback and notice here. Unfortunately costs we incur providing various AI services are variable, and they have increased. We hear the concerns and are looking at the best way to meet customers' needs whilst managing changing costs for both functionality and feature set. We hope to be able to increase credits available soon!
@@egyptiansphinx they backtracked when they got a lot of pushback and made it right, but only after getting hit with hundreds of complaints. So now it doesn’t drop to 80 until our annual renewal date.
I use kittle AI and upload it to creative fabrica to sell to people who download it and print it or use the image on their own projects or POD shirts. Is this ok?
Hi Drew, If I use a Card template & then create a design in AI, if I then sell that as a digital card (that customer's can print themselves), is that allowed under the AI terms?
Awesome video, thank you! I love Kittl :) I have two questions. I think the first I already know is 1) if you intend to sell clipart, it sounds like your own AI and your own content is fine, but not if combined with Kittl elements - is that correct? So, for example, yes to digital kits with our own AI images, but no to SVGs generated with Kittl text or images? 2). If you create a design in Kittl, say for a birthday invitation, and flatten it, it sounds like using editable elements like text for name/date/etc. is a no-no :) However, if we use the flattened design as a background in something else, say Canva, and use their text for templates for sale, is that an acceptable use in Kittle - just creating flattened backgrounds? I think I understood yes but want to be sure.
It's as you have said here, except in number 2, you can actually just sell the link to the template in Kittl! It is not suggested to upload Kittl elements to Canva to then orchestrate and sell as a templated design in Canva, as this is not where the licensing for Kittl elements extend. (AI generated content of course can be used as you please).
Thank you for clarifying the licensing. I had not joined kittl before this video because of not being certain about my private uploads being share with everyone, thank you for explaining this clearly that I can use the private mode - I have now joined kittl. thank you I am very happy with the ai licensing and love that you have inbuilt vectorising tool. I look forward to enjoy using Kittl for my projects. I have always loved your fonts. Thanks again for explaining your licensing in easy legal speak. ❤
I use the AI images in a digital project for image-video storytelling. As far as I have read the license, this is also permitted. Otherwise only for the design of club projects anyway. I don't yet sell images commercially or make printed products.
@@magickmica Yes, I try to do the same. 30 credits a day is good enough for me and then you can fall back on the credits from rewards if you need more. One project is a dystopian style story and I'm happy with the great pictures it gives me.
I think the final point is a worry. If I create a popular design on Merch by Amazon, and I cannot maintain my account, for example I die, however this design stays active on Merch and continues to sell do my beneficiaries have to delete the design(s) as they will not know about maintaining the account with Kittl? Also, what happens if you delete my free account?
I am just looking into Kittl, but I'm assuming there are many more assets available if you have a pro account. If I use a pro account and create items to sell, then down the road I stop creating and no longer have a pro account, do I have to take down the things I made when I had a pro account? Thanks.
Hi Drew, Bruno here. I understood we can´t register the fonts and elements supplied by Kittl as if they were ours. But what if I use them as parts of a larger new design? I am using a font and three elements from Kittl (Sundaze, two coconut trees and a surfer) to design a logo for myself, can I register that logo? (register = trademark). I´m sorry if this is a stupid question, but I wanted to be sure whether I can do it or not. Tks a lot, Drew!
He said you can't and if you want a logo to be trademarked to use a different program to make it with. I think of it like this, everything in the Kittl toolbox is open source and we can't take from an open source community and then own the thing we got there.
Hey there, this would be against our licensing. You cannot register or trademark elements or designs made with elements and fonts in Kittl, as everyone has the same licensure to use them.
Looking at maybe getting a pro account but for $15 a month, only getting 30 credits a day seems a bit pricey. Other services give you way more. Another service I'm subscribed to gives me 8500 a month for less that the Kittl Pro Plan. Having said that though, I'll probably get it anyway because I need some features it has.
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, Kittl is much more than just an AI tool. The AI is simply one feature among so many that make Kittl powerful, so we do hope you give it a try!
I thought I understand the terms but now im not sure and I'd rather be safe. I'm on the pro plan and I have some questions. 1)I made some printable wall art and greeting cards using Kittl fonts and elements. Can I sell these? (No AI elements and its not editable by the customer.) 2)If I add some elements that I have drawn on a different program and planning to add them to the above, can I sell these please? 3) If I draw some pictures on let's say procreate and I being them into Kittl, can I still sell these? (No fonts or Kittl elements added just my own art.)
I am just getting to this video now. I love Kittl BTW. 1 question. I know you said you can't miss the slider to set whether the content I create is public or private... but... duh... I've missed it. Can't find that slider. By the prompt box? On which window? Thanks.
I'm confused with the Ai and Kittl content merging part about sub licensing. Are we able to create an image with the AI feature and use kittl text and use that for print on demand? I'm confused on the merging part. For example) I use the Ai feature to create a sunflower, but then use kittl content that's a rose and some leaves to create a unique design. Can that design be used for print on demand if we are mixing Ai and Kittl?
Yes, you can use it in the way you've described for print on demand! The only issue comes when one is trying to sell digital designs as stock imagery/assets. POD there are not issues with using AI + Kittl assets/fonts. :)
Great video but just need a little clarification. 1. Can I create digital files to sell such as sublimation designs someone would apply to tumblers/mugs? 2. Can I upload files I've purchased from Creative Fabrica, use those graphics and add elements and text from Kittl and then sell them as POD and digital png files on etsy? 3. I cannot sell clipart even if I combine several elements and text? Is this with AI as well as the library? Thank you for your help.
Yes Yes and you can! Anything that has been made unique and manipulated/placed by you! Specifically stripping elements from Kittl's asset library and selling them as packs is not allowed. I hope this helps 🙂
@@Kittldesign I have another question. In looking at the subscription plans, I see there are limits on the number of projects you can work on. I'm interested in the Pro plan, but does this mean I'm only allowed to make 100 designs the entire time I have Kittl? I can't make any more than that? What if I edit a design, does that count as a new design? I plan on making a lot more than 100. Thanks!!
Hi Drew, I have a free account, and when I'm trying to make a template design and remove background, it's telling me to upgrade. Is the free trial only 7 days?
Hey I have a problem with reckless ADHD spending and Kittl is a thing I do not regret paying for. Got a house full of unused crap I didn't need, but this I use all the time even for personal stuff outside of my POD shop. I made my mom's mother's day card digital this year and she loved it.
Sorry for asking what you have probably answered a thousand times. I just want a tad more clarification... if I use AI to generate an image and then use Kittl fonts for the final design, can I sell that design, on lets say Etsy for example, as an svg or png file?
Hey there! You cannot sell it as a digital stock graphic to be utilized by others if you plan to integrate Kittl text and elements. Only AI-only images can be sold as stock graphics.
Hello! I am planning to get Kittl Pro Plan and I know these are stupid questions but I just want to make sure that my understanding is correct. 1. If I created a design using Kittl elements and fonts only, for example a bookmark, can I sell it in digital form? (but only for personal use of the buyer) Also, should I indicate in the description of my digital product that I created the design using Kittl? 2. If I used Kittl AI, elements and fonts in my design, for example a bookmark again, can I sell it in digital form? The same case with my first question but I only added the AI.
I will be selling them as printables. Is there a specific file type only for me to sell it as digital product? I am planning to sell what I created with Kittl in a PDF format. I am also wondering if I can add PNG? So the buyer can just resize before printing, if they need it in other sizes.
Hey there! In both examples, what you would be selling is a "printable" (a physical-end product). So the answer is yes, but you are selling it in digital form to ultimately be used in a physical environment. What you cannot do, is sell the digital vector file to be used as stock graphics. If you have a paid Kittl subscription, you do not need to put in the description that you used Kittl.
You got it! Printables are the correct category. Both PDF and PNG should be fine. We actually have a video on this you can check out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZCg6smeZ9Iw.htmlsi=AbBTFX1gOnNoxf3y
I am on the Free Plan with the intention of upgrading next month. I want to use Kittl AI for the AI generated pictures included in the books I want to sell, either on a RU-vid channel or my own page, or perhaps on another platform. Is this OK, licensing-wise on the Free version or should I wait to publish until I am on the Pro or another upgraded plan?
Hey there, the images you create with the Free plan are uploaded to our database in Kittl and searchable by all Kittl users. So you would need to wait until you have a Pro or Expert account to turn on privacy mode.
Hey there! You cannot resell designs as stock graphics that you made with Kittl. But anything you make solely with Kittl AI is yours to do with as you please, including selling the AI graphic!
My opinion you just convolute it. What You Can Do: Use for Your Own Stuff and Business: You can use Kittl's designs for your own projects, your business, or for projects you do for other people. Use for Lots of Projects: You can use Kittl's designs as many times as you want for different things. Put on Things You Sell: You can put Kittl's designs on things like t-shirts, posters, and mugs, and sell them. Use in Digital Stuff: You can use Kittl's designs in digital books, calendars, websites, apps, games, or social media posts. What You Can't Do: Compete with Kittl: You can't use Kittl's designs to create and sell things that compete with Kittl's business. Claim Ownership: You can't say Kittl's designs are yours or try to make them your own brand. Hide AI Creation: If you use AI to create content, you must tell people it was made with AI.
It's a bit more involved than the list of you've share here, although it's correct. That's why it's important to familiarize yourself with the licensing page. :)
@@Kittldesign "Use in Digital Stuff: You can use Kittl's designs in digital books, calendars, websites, apps, games, or social media posts." This is correct if I have a free plan?
Question, am I allowed to use my designs which I used AI to generate and edited them myself and trademark them, then use it for my clothing brand? Even without trademarking them, is that allowed?
Hey there, with generated images in Kittl AI, you can use them in anyway that you wish, but we cannot give legal advice on whether you are able to trademark AI generated content, as the specifics are important on how it will be used and displayed, so we suggest conversing with a legal consultant to make sure there are no future headaches.
We did our best to make that very clear. Anything you generate with Kittl AI you can sell as your own creation, as stock imagery. But you cannot sell stock designs from assets and fonts used in Kittl.
Hey there! Anything AI that is made with the free plan is uploaded to the AI database for others to use. You can enact "private" mode with a Pro or Expert plan, which gives you full commercial license to sell or copyright your work.
Hey there! If you are using what was already in Kittl, those were already elements, assets, fonts, and images that are licensed by us to use for your work! Belongs isn't quite the right word, because this will largely depend on how you intend to use it. There is also a different between publishing a design to the community for everyone to use, and creating a design that remains private in your account. Let us know if you need further clarification.
If I create a design via Kittl AI - am I able to copyright it? I created a design that became very popular on Etsy, so now everyone is stealing and copying it. I would like to copyright it so I can make sure I am the only one selling this design. Please let me know!
Hey there. Generally, we're not able to make a claim on whether or not you can copyright a piece of AI generated content. While you are able to sell it, license it, and sub-license it, trademarked a piece of AI generated art can potentially cause issues. We would advise seeking a legal consultant on this subject. Note that in terms of Etsy, you still retain all intellectual rights to the graphic, and you need only present Etsy with the listing published date to show that you were the first to publish the design, and they should take action in taking the other designs down.
@@Kittldesign Understood, thank you! This is happening on TikTok Shop as well. They don't seem as easy to deal with as Etsy. Not sure if you have any information for them in regards to this?
