That song can't be sang with any more enthusiastic expression. It really brings me back to my Glory days and kicking up my heals. it was a main feature of Woodstock.
This is one of my favorite performances from kitty Daisy and Lewis... Love this band.. They are awesome...I listen to this 3 or 4 times a week...they are Hot
Well, this has just enough of original and just enough personal touch to make it very nice. Trust me I am not easy to please when it comes to songs I grew up with. So thanks for making my day.
Martin, hello sir, 1928 Henry Thomas I believe - going up the country.. He does not sing , going up the country.. Kitty daisy and Lewis sing ,, Going up the country... I will slow down both versions and see if they ever come close on lyrics😊 God bless you sir..😊😊 I might be wrong. But I will hear if they are the same..after slowing them down..
@@harvdog5669 Thanks for your reply and you are correct Henry Thomas doesn't say "going up the country" That's a nice fact. But, I wasn't referring to Henry's version which is a fine song. I didn't grow up in the 20's and 30's. :) I was referring to the Canned Heat version which is what these girls are singing. They have completely different lyrics and Henry never sings the chorus of the Canned heat version. Now baby, pack your leaving trunk, you know we've got to leave today Just exactly where we're going I cannot say, but we might even, leave the U.S.A. 'Cause there's a brand new game that I wanna play No use of you running or screaming and crying 'Cause you've got a home, man Long as I've got mine No need to slow the songs down since the lyrics of both versions are online.
@@dizzydolly722 You are very generous when taking me into account with your comments, I love you very much and believe me, in my country you will always be ahead, you are great singers, never stop being so, we admire you or at least I send you my most pleasant congratulations and a great hug.
I would have never heard of them if I hadn't watched "Welcome to the Riley's." As soon as the song came on at the end, I thought, "damn, I really like those vocals!"
I just found this group like a week ago and i have played this like 25 time . I love these girls the band is awesome . Who can tell me where they are from
There are several excellent Ditty, Daisy and Lewis versions of this on RU-vid, but this black and white version is great. There is another excellent version by a Hungarian band with an unpronounceable name which has stolen a little from KDL but is none-the-less worth a look: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eJs2U2mtfKE.html - and of course the Henry Thomas 1928 original: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b8NJ-MIfFHI.html
