Kivgiq is an ancient Inupiaq tradition, which unites communities in a celebration of dance and fellowship. The four-day Kivgiq celebration includes traditional dances, art and craft bartering, storytelling, gift giving, and a Native dress review.
Participants come from the international circumpolar community, including Russia and Canada, as well as from all parts of Alaska and the lower 48 states.
