If im not wrong here. U are not supposed to use any of the battery straps the way u use a power bank for your phone or other devices. U are meant to plug these in when your Quest is at 80%.
The Quest 3 (and likely strap battery) both have lithium-ion batteries. It is well documented for this battery type to not overcharge (over 80%) and not to let them fall lower than 20%, so keeping it between 80% and 20% is an ideal charging scenario. Now because you have two batteries to maintain, Kiwi is obviously going to tell customers to treat their strap battery with careful charging by plugging it into the Quest straight away, or at 80%, but this is at the strain of the Quest battery, which will be either overcharging above 80%, once the strap is being plugged in, or charging and running extra heat as it charges whilst also being depleted by use. I dunno about you but I'd rather look after the Quest 3 battery than a strap at 1/4 the price, if not more.
peeverd mine didn't come with a top strap but two lil pads to hold it up. majore issues with the straps if you try and bend down and look up it pushes the back up your head making it loose, no matter how it sits how tight, it will always come loose if you dare to put any effort into a game
Get in touch with kiwi directly and they should send out a top strap. You need this to give the best support and comfort of this strap. Or send it back and buy it again.

The Aubika has a bigger battery, its construction is good but I would say below that of the Kiwi strap. The Kiwi has a bigger rear foam padding and maybe a little thicker top padding. The Aubika has the ability to stop and start its charging, the Kiwi does not. Cable management is better on the Kiwi, and overall the Kiwi feels a little chunkier thank the Aubika. So taking all the above you should be able to make a choice between the two, based on what you think is more important out of all the pros and cons from each that I have mentioned above. If I play exclusively on a pc with a cable do i need to really charge the headset ?....I assume the pc will power the headset when connected?....not sure if i should buy the battery version
PC usb ports are limited to like 5 or 10 watts so you will lose charge over time, I get about 4 hours with cable but I got a better wifi router so now I always play wireless
It depends on your usb ports. You could try a more pricier optical data cable that might keep the headset charged. There’s 100W usbc to c cables about now that might also do the trick but it does come down to how much power is coming out of that usb c port. If it’s usb A it can’t be that much power going through it.
I’m pretty sure I mention cases in this video. If not the kiwi small case fits fine and isn’t too bulky as long as you’re not packing more than the headset and its controllers.
They are two different type of straps so you can’t really compare them as such but me go to is the S3. I prefer a halo strap over an elite style type of strap.
Nice review! I wish Kiwi would make and magnetic adapter that’s compatible with other head straps so I could leave their adapter in while using the Bobovr
You can, but I wouldn't recommend it because the weight at the front will not be supported at the top of the head and it will likely become uncomfortable.
The Q3Pro strap is a different style of strap to the kiwi. It’s a halo strap with a top strap, which shouldn’t really be needed. I feel without using the Q3Pro that the kiwi would be more comfortable.
If you wiggle it side to side and try to bring it up at and angle so you can grab an edge and then pull the strap through. Hope this helps. You could also try heating the end with a hair dryer to make it more softer too :)
@@OQPlay thanks. Is the battery size difference between the two even really noticeable? From the Amazon reviews it seems similar and maybe aubikas battery isn't actually larger than kiwi
It all depends on how long you play between breaks. The aubika has a bigger capacity (8000mAh vs 6500ish of the kiwi) so it will store more charge but I always found the kiwi offered enough battery time between sessions and you’re charging between then. The promos aubika has the ability to choose when to charge via a button at the back. Kiwi doesn’t have that so as soon as it’s connected it’s charging.
See... I find so much contradictory information. I've been trying to find out if the battery should be plugged in while both are completely charged or to wait until the quest 3 is low on battery to plug in. You say (after about 7 minutes) that you plug it in once your battery is low. Kiwi website says plug it in right away. Ugh. From their site: Note - To maximize the usage time, we recommend plugging in the Battery Head Strap when the Quest 3 battery level is at 80% or above.
@@LQCyberKnight why would i plug after headset nearly dead? Gotta drain the kiwi first and keep my headsets battery! Bevause kiwi doesnt charge it when playinng it mostly keep it at same level
@@EastCoastWoman1 kiwi says you should plug it when your headset is around 75 - 80% because maybe above that it charges slower and end up causing the buzz, i have yet to try if this removes the buzzing sound
