Yeah, it is one area where brands need to be more vocal about how they use pinna gain. Some people are very anti-shouty, some people just low pinna fans once they hear it, and some may listen at lower volume and prefer more. Helps to navigate which sets meet your prefs.

Looks like an alternative to the Xenns Mangird Tea 2. I find that set to be very well tuned but it's super safe.

There is nothing wrong with super safe especially for folks who are buying their first set in that price range. Lokahi and Orchestra Lite almost cover both ends, one is safe and conservative, the other is a big sound banger. Never heard either Tea though

Hi Paul. Just found your channel. Very informative review, thanks. I have a few of the budget chi-fiems, get it? 😄, and I am a mid-head. My favourite so far is the 7Hz/Salnotes Zero. I doubt the bass will be a problem for me in the Orchestra Lite. But in case the treble is too polite, perhaps it can take EQ well? I don't know if you ever do that or talk about that. Either way, thanks a lot!

Yes, the thing about treble EQ is that you won't be moving it in large quantities. Also, if your source is a bit brighter, that might take you a step there also. It is tuned safe, not dark so I don't doubt a small EQ is going to get it where you need it.

@@PaulWasabii Paul, thanks a lot for that. A quick follow up, whilst I have you, please. From all your experience, what would you say would be a proper and worthy upgrade to the Salnotes Zero? I love the sound signature. If it had a smidge more bass, no worries, but no problem if not. But not a lot more as it'll start affecting the midrange and balance, I think. Heard good things about the Oracle, from others who seem to love midrange and vocals like me... (Yes, I'm aware of the price difference 😅, but I don't want to take lots of baby steps) Thank you SO MUCH!

Which one u recommend is great for classical/ orchestra chamber music? Kiwi orchestra, tanchjim origin, simgot EA 1000 fermat, binary acoustic Chopin, kiwi quintet, 7hz timeless.

Orchestra Lite isn't a bad choice. For me and classical, I like a set with balanced armatures because you get sharper strings. Something harder to get on a 1DD. Timeless has detail but too much treble. Never heard Chopin and Quintet isn't bad either, just has an upper mid bright spot, will get harsh at higher volume. Orchestra Lite, KZ Hydro, LetShuoer Cadenza are decent choices. Of the brand new sets, look at Simgot Super Mix 4 or AFUL Explorer which might had the right balance of price and sound quality

@@PaulWasabii u reckon because both has 1 DD, so the Origin & EA1000 won't be good enough for orchestra music? I think something with bright natural tuning, good base, great soundstage, imagination, detail, technically will work. Which ones of ur suggestion offer all of these points?

I have a question. I was playing a song and i noticed this kind of like grainning sound a harshness in the start of the song, which kind of made the song hard to listen to. What is that noise?

I have the ER4XR and that is a special set. I am not sure you are going to find another set that suits you in that price if you are a big fan.

A word of caution however since there is peoples reporting of QC issues and tuning inconsistencies between purchased sets and review units. Keep that in mind. Interesting comment. It is always difficult with one report like that. Usually there are more on Facebook or Head-Fi and it spreads fast when you start seeing multiples with the same problem. Thank for pointing out the potential QC issue.

Different is the easy answer. I actually think HBB talked about Orchestra Lite recently in the same way, the mids are great but bookended by less bass and treble. Is that better? Depends on your preferences. Orchestra Lite is a great $250 all BA, but for some people, that will never satisfy you like a great 1DD. If you are a BA fan and a mids fan, it works well.

I haven't heard B3 but I think Orchestra Lite is a safer set if you don't know. B3 is quite a bit more intense on treble levels

yeah, but what was interesting was how it presents the edges. Zero:Red is similar in throwing a label on it didn't quite capture it. I should probably stop with the labels or come up with something that makes more sense. Thank you
