KiwiRail Autumn Action in the Lower North Island (4K) 

Over a 3-day period, we see KiwiRail freight and passenger services around the Wellington and Manawatu regions in the Lower North Island.
We start with chasing a test train of the recently rebuilt SA carriages being repurposed for the Palmerston North to Wellington Capital Connection run. DFB 7049 hauls the 6-carriage train south to Palmerston North and back.
The next day we follow train 200 The Northern Explorer from Wellington to Marton later skipping ahead to catch a quadruple header 240 at Makatote Viaduct, we then follow train 247 to Bunnythorpe.
On the last day, we follow DFB 7049 again on the AKF test train which is a repurposed ex SA carriage which will be used as a food preparation car on KiwiRail scenic journey's services
