KiwiRail DXC Thunder! Chasing Coal Train No 836T 4K 

On Sunday the 19th November 2023 after finishing chasing the TranzAlpine and grabbing some supplies we head on over to Kokiri where we began the chase back to Christchurch this time with a fully loaded 2000 tonne coal train No.836T which had overnighted in the loop at Red Jacks and departed late Afternoon! We see the DXCs getting a good workout throughout the chase as they climb the several gradients and coming off speed restrictions! They also picked up the 4 DXC bankers in Otira to be taken to Christchurch to be serviced and the leading 3 locos were the only ones in power for the climb up Cass Bank! It really was music to the ears hearing these old girls at their finest!
